Chapter 5

When I opened my eyes the next morning the first thing I saw was Justin's beautiful blue eyes.
"Good morning sleepy head," he said.
I yawned. "Good morning."
He got out of bed and pulled some clothes out of his bag.
"You must be an early person," I said.
"Not usually," he grinned. "I'm usually grumpy in the morning, at least until I get my cereal."
I laughed.
"Usually Joey comes and jumps on my bed until I get up."
"Lets go wake them up."
"Okay," he said.
We crept into the guestroom where Chris, J.C. and Joey were sleeping. I giggled as Justin flicked J.C.'s nose. J.C. mumbled something and rolled over. He ran and jumped on Chris's bed and jumped up and down.
"Hey," said Chris sleepily.
Chris tried to roll over and fell off the bed.
"Uh," Chris grunted.
Justin and I burst out laughing. Chris stood up and rubbed his back. "Its not funny," he said.
"Whats going on?" asked J.C.
"Chris fell out of bed." Justin answered.
"Oh."
"Get up," said Justin. "Its already 10:00."
"No," said J.C. "Give me another 30 minutes."
Justin jumped on J.C.'s bed and started bouncing like crazy.
"Oh man," moaned J.C.
He dragged hhimself out of bed and went out of the rom to the bathroom.
"If you weren't my friend I would have decked you," said Chris yawning.
"You would have missed me, your still half asleep."
"You know, your probably right," said Chris. "But if I was wide awake you'd be dead."
"No way. I could beat your old ass anyday."
"Old?" asked Chris.
"Yeah, your 10 years older than me!" exclaimed Justin.
"That doesn't make any difference," said Chris.
"Breakfast!" yelled Brett.
"Huh... Breakfast..." said Joey, sitting up.
Chris and Justin stopped fighting and laughed at Joey. "Count on food to wake Joey up," said Justin.
Chris and Justin raced downstairs. I followed behind them. After a few minutes, Kate, Lance, J.C. and Joey came down.
After we ate and got dressed, Justin and I went out back and sat down in the shade.
"You know," he said. "I love a girl who can talk. I mean actually start up a conversation about anything, not just music."
I smiled. "I love a guy who isn't afraid to challenge me in a game of basketball."
"How about we play a little," he suggested.
"Okay. The basketball's in the garage."
"Stay here, I'll go get it."
He jogged towards the garage. He was wearing a pair of baggy brown cargo shorts and a while Tommy Hillfiger t-shirt. He looked so gorgeous.
He came back carrying the basketball. I stood up and went over to him.
"You can have the ball first this time," I said.
"Check," he said as he tossed me the ball.
I tossed it back. He started to dribble and tried to drive to the net, but I blocked it. I got the rebound and took it out. I drove it to the net and wen't up for a lay-up. When I came down from the air my foot landed half on Justin's foot. My ankle twisted and I felt a loud pop. I fell to the ground and cried out in pain, clutching my ankle.
"What happened," said Justin, concerned as he leaned over me.
"My ankle," I cryed. "It hurts."
"I'll carry you to the house." He picked me up and carryied me to the house and set me down on the sofa.
My dad walked in the room. "What's wrong?" he asked.
"Erin hurt her ankle," said Justin.
"I'll get some Ice," said Brett as he hurried out of the room.
"I'm so sorry," Justi appologized.
"Its okay," I said in pain.
Brett came back in the room with a bag of Ice. "Lets get you to the hospital."
J.C. and Chris came down the stairs. "What's going on?" asked J.C.
"Erin hurt her ankle and we're taking her to the hospital," said Brett.
"Brett, how about you stay here with Kate and me and Justin will go," said JC.
"Well, I guess thats alright." JC took Bretts place and they helped me to their van. Justin picked me up and carefully sat me on the first bench seat. JC got in the drivers seat and Justin sat behind me, leaning over the back of the seat.
"It hurts," I said, almost in tears.
"I'm driving as fast as I can," said JC.
"We'll be there in a few minutes," said Justin.
We got to the hospital and Justin helped me out. JC came over and let me lean on his sholder. They helped me to the waiting room of the hospital.
"She's hurt her ankle pretty bad," Justin explained to the lady behind the desk.
"Okay, we'll get her to the doctor right away. While your waiting fill out this form."
Justin came and sat down and gave me the clipboard. After I filled it out JC took it up to a nurse. In less than 5 minutes a nurse brought a wheelchair to me and took me to a room. The doctor examined my ankle and took a few x-rays.
