JC's Story
Chapter 2

"Shorty?!?!?!?" Chris was about to scream something when Sam walked onto the court. He looked at her and smiled. She had rid away her club uniform and was wearing a stylish Gap skirt and blouse. JC grinned and walked over to her, "Hey, Sam! I want you to meet my friends." She smiled and waved to all of them. They all called hey! "We were going to go over to my place for a while. Do you want to come?" JC asked her. Sam hesitantly nodded her head. Her eyes looked a little nervous. He noticed this and reassuringly put his hand on her arm, "Don't worry, you'll be fine with us." Sam looked up into his eyes and attempted a smile. All the guys gathered up their stuff and walked over to JC and Sam. He held out his arm to her. She looked at it and slowly placed hers in his.

15 minutes later they all arrived at JC's two story brick house. Justin and Joey raced in and immediately put on playstation.
"Ready to get your butt kicked, Timberlake?"
Justin just laughed. Sam followed the rest of them inside. JC held the door for her and she walked in. It was a nice house.
"I like your house. It's so much neater than mine." JC smiled and asked her if she wanted a tour of it. She nodded and he began showing her around. They went upstairs. "And this is my room..." he finished. Samantha looked around it and gasped when she saw his massive collection of Hard Rock cafe menus. "Do you want to sit down?" he asked. Her pretty face got a little pale, "Um.. ok." JC sat down on his bed. She chose a chair beside a desk. He felt her uneasiness and calmly began talking to her. She, soon relaxed and found that he was so easy to talk to. You wouldn't even know he was a big star, he was so modest and polite. Sam longed to get to know him better, but she couldn't, she just couldn't.
They continued to talk for a while until JC stood up and came to sit at her feet.

Lance didn't feel right. He knew there was something going on with Sam, but what was it? He told what he was thinking to Chris. "Hmmmm.. she did seem a little uneasy around JC. Maybe she just likes to move slow and is thinking JC is going to move fast. But JC is the king of moving slow. So, she has nothing to worry about."

"Samantha?" He said softly. "We're leaving in a few weeks and I wanted to know if you wanted to stay in touch with me cause I...." He stopped.
Sam began to nervously twirl her hair around her finger,"I what?"
"I like you a lot. There's something about you that's different from other girls. You're more real, like you've been through a lot." Her face paled. "Sam, what's wrong?" JC stood up again and gently took her in his arms. She tensed. "Please tell me."
"Nothing, I'm fine," she said. He searched her face, knowing there was something more than that. He kept his mouth shut and then leaned down and kissed her in the lips. Sam kissed back, then pulled away. She jumped out of his arms and ran out of the room. JC's mouth dropped open, "Was it something I said or did?"

Samantha ran into the bathroom and locked the door. She looked in the mioor and saw a helpless victim. She began crying and sat down on the bathroom floor.

JC quickly walked out of the room and searched for her. He saw the bathroom door closed. "Samantha, are you in there? Please, tell me what's wrong. I'm sorry, I was moving too fast." He heard her crying inside. She didn't answer or open the door. He went downstairs.
"Hey man, what's up?" Lance said.
"I don't know, something's wrong with Sam." He looked down at the ground. "I think I moved too quickly." Chris's mouth dropped open, as he looked at Lance.
Justin stopped playing the game and he began to run upstairs. "Samantha?" he called, walking up to the bathroom. "It's Justin, can I come in?"
"No, please go away."
"I don't want to go away." He said, with a determined expression on his face. Sam sighed and opened the door. Justin gasped when he saw her. Her eyes were red and puffy and she looked miserable. She was sitting on the floor. He went into the bathroom and sat down beside her. "So, what happened?" There was no answer.
"Nothing, I just got scared."
"No, I mean; what has happened in your life that makes you uncomfortable around men that can actually like you a lot?"
Sam gasped,"What are you saying?"
"I'm saying that I for one, know that something is wrong." He put his arm on her shoulder.
"Well, your wrong, because I am fine. I have a good life. It's not perfect, but I have my mom and she has me. That's why I really should be going, she's probably worried about me right now." She pushed away her tears and stood up.
Justin shook his head,"It's not good to walk away from your problems."
Sam glared at him,"I think my problems are my own business and not yours, so leave me alone." She ran out of the room and down the stairs. JC saw her coming and he stood up. She didn't even look at him and rushed out of the house. All the guys ran to the window and watched her start to run down the street. JC ran out of the house and ran after her. "Sam, please stop and talk to me," he yelled.
She looked behind her shoulder and cried,"Just leave me alone. I can't live it again." She sprinted down an alley. JC easily caught up to her, being he was in such good shape. He grabbed her arm to make her stop. "No, no, please no," she cried, tears streaming down her face.
"Sam," he whispered and took her in his arms.
