Give Me A Chance Give Me A Chance Maggie Davis was asleep in the passenger eat of the blue durango belonging to her fionce Alex Trantham. Maggie and Alex had met 2 years ago when they had bumped into each other in the cafeteria at UNC Chappel Hill where they both went to school. they were on their way to Maggie's parents house.
Maggie woke when the car jumped sharply. She sat up and looked ahead. She was blinded by the bright lights heading straight at the durango.
"Alex!" she screamed.

"Come on JC, turn off the light," whined Justin.
"Hold on, I'm almost done," said JC. Why don't you just shut the curtains?"
"Its too hot when their closed."
JC wrote down a few more lines in his notebook and switched off the light. He sighed and layed his head back on the pillow. He had been working on writing a new song. He wanted to have it done in time to be on the new album. The problem was every time he sat down to write he was interuped. 'I'll never finnish this song,' thought JC. He roed over and closed his eyes. He was about to fall asleep when there the bus skidded to a stop. JC started to sit up when there was a loud, sharp metal crushing sound.
"What now?" groaned Justin, who was about to fall asleep himself.
JC sat up and switched on the light as Donna, their manager, came into the back.
"Whats going on?" asked JC.
"We were in an accident," said Donna quietly, hoping not to wake up the others who were still asleep.
"What?" said Justin getting out of his bunk.
JC and Justin followed donna out te bus door. There was a blue durango smashed up into the front of the bus. "Oh god," said JC. "Did you call 911?"
"Yeah, I already did," said Donna. "God, I hope their okay."
"I... I don't think their moving," said Justin.
"Come on, help me get them out," said JC.
Justin followed JC overto the passengers side of the car. They pulled the woman from the twisted wreckage and layed her on the pavement. JC paused and looed down at her. He bend down and brushed her brown hair from her eyes. despite the cuts and bruises on her face JC could tel she was beautiful."
"JC... JC," said Justin shaking JC. "Are you okay man?"
JC snaped out of his trance. "Huh?" He heard the ambulance sirens piercing the silence. He steped back as the paramedics put her on a strecher and into the back of an ambulance.
"Come on, lets get back on the bus," said Justin. He led JC back to the bus. "Everythings going to be fine."
"We gotta get to the hospital and find out if their okay," said JC.
"Stay here, I'll be back in a sec." Justin left JC standing in the dark bus, lit only by the blue and red flashing lights of the remaining police cars outside the bus. JC went to the back of the bus and sat down, dropping his head in his hands. 'God I hope they are okay,' thought JC. He couldn't help but think of how beautiful that gir was. She was beautiful, angeic even. "She has to be okay," said JC aloud.
"Don't worry, she'll be fine," said Justin who had just walked in the room without JC noticing. JC sat up, started. He didn't expect anyone to hear what he had said. "Are we..."
"Donna said we'd go to the hospital and find out if their okay," interrupted Justin.
"Great," said JC, relieved.
"JC, are you going to be okay?" asked Justin, looking concerned.
"What are you talking about?"
"You look like your really upset."
"Its just that..." He was interupted by the bus suddenly jerking forward. "Don't worry about me, I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Allright," said Justin. He got up and went to the front for a drink. JC sat in the back in silence for the rest of the ride to the hospita.

The guys waited in the waiting room along with Donna, their bus driver and their two body guards. After a while a doctor came in the room. Donna and JC stood up. "There's good news and bad news. The good news is the girl is okay... but we weren't able to save the driver."
"Oh god," said Donna.
"Can I see her?" asked JC.
"Sure, I'll show you to her room," said the Doctor.
JC folowed him to a room at the end of the hallway. When JC walked in she had her eyes closed. He cautiously went over to the side of her bed. She opened her eyes, as if she had sensed his presnce. They looked at each other for a moment until she broke the silence.
"Do I know you?"
"No, I was in the bus you car hit. I'm JC."
"I'm Maggie."
"I didn't mean to wae you, I wanted to know if you were okay."
"Thanks for your concern. I can't believe Alex is gone."
"Alex?"
"My fionce... he was driving."
"I'm so sorry."
"Its okay," said Maggie. "You look familiar, are you sure we haven't met?" asked Maggie.
"Not before today," said JC. "I'm from the group Nsync, you might have seen me on tv before."
"Thats it. My niece loves you guys. I don't think she remembers what color her walls are due to all her posters."
"Listen, Is there anything I can do, I'd really like to help, said JC changing the subject.
"You really don't have..."
JC leaned forward and took her hand. "Please, I really wan't to help."
"Could you call my parents? We were supposed to be there by now, their probably worried sick."
"Sure," said JC.
Maggie gave him their phone number and he went down the hall to the payphones. When he finnished calling he went back to Maggies room. "I called them, they said they were on their way."
"Thanks so much," said Maggie.
"Your welcome. Listen, I have to go, the other guys are waiting on me. I'd like to talk to you again." He wrote his cell phone number down on a piece of paper and gave it to Maggie. "Here, call me whenever you need to talk."
JC turned and walked out of the room to the waiting room where the other guys were waiting. "So?" asked Justin.
"She's fine but her fionce isn't."
"Fionce?" asked Chris.
"Yeah, he was driving."
"We need to get going," said Donna. "We're late as it is." They had one more show to do the next day in Orlando to finnish up their tour. They followed Donna to the slightly banged up bus. JC got bac in his bunk and layed down, staring up at the top of the bunk. 'Maggie,' he thought. She was so beautiful. JC eventualy fell asleep thinking only about the angel he had just met.

A few days later JC was hanging out at home, brain storming on his song he was so desperatly trying to write. His thoughts were interupted by the phone ringing. He groaned and got up and picked up the phone. "Hello?"
"JC?" said a small voice on the other end of the line.
"This is JC."
"Hey, its maggie."
JC switched the phone to the other ear and sat back down. "Hey, how are you?"
"I'm fine. I was wondering if you could come to Alex's funeral with me... if its not too much trouble."
"Of course I'll come, when is it?"
"This Tuesday."
"Okay."
"Thank you so much. I really need someone to support me."
"Anytime," said JC.
Maggie gave JC the dirrections to the funeral home. After Maggie thanked him once again they said goodbye and hung up.

After the funeral on Tuesday JC drove Maggie home, since she was too upset to drive.
"You have a nice place," said JC looking around. "I guess I better go now..."
"No... please stay," said Maggie.
"Okay."
"I'm going to go change first," said Maggie.
"I've got some clothes in the car, I'll go get them," said JC.
Maggie went upstairs and JC went out to his car to get his clothes. When Maggie came back downstairs JC was waiting for her in the living room. He had changed into a pair of cargo shorts and a white tanktop underneath a blue button down shirt.
"Have you ever heard any of our songs?" asked JC.
"I don't think I have," said Maggie.
JC cleared his throat and began to sing God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You. At the end of the song he picked up maggies hand and looked right into her eyes.
"That was beautiful," said Maggie smiling.
"And so are you," said JC in a quiet voice. He leaned forward and kissed her. She pulled back and looked down.
"This is wrong."
JC lifted up her chin. "I know your stil upset about Alex, and I can't say I know how you feel, but I'd realy ike to get to know you better."
Maggie looked up at JC and started crying. JC held her in his arms. She burried her head on his chest. "I miss him so much."
"I'm sorry," whispered JC. "Ssh, don't cry. Everythings okay now."

That night JC got home after dark. He had stayed at Maggies house talking for a long time. He went in his room and changed. He layed down in bed, thinking about Maggie. JC really liked her, and she seemed to really like him, but she still wasn't over Alex. He didn't want Maggie to forget about Alex, but he wanted her to give him a chance.
JC woke up to the phone ringing. He rolled over and reached for the phone. "Hello?" he said as he wiped the sleep from his eyes.
"Hey JC, are you awake?" asked Chris.
"I am no, what do you want?"
"Justin and I want you to come over and play basketball."
"It's too early," said JC.
"No its not, Its almost 12:00."
JC looked at the clock. Chris was right, it was 11:48. "Okay, give me half an hour."
"Okay, later." Chris hung up.
JC hung up the phone and took a shower. He put on a pair of blue Nike shorts and a white t-shirt with cut off sleeves. He got to Justin's place at 12:20. Justin, Chris, and Joey were there along with two of Justin's friends, Luke and Jason. "Hey, JC man. We've been waiting for you," said Justin. "Hey is something wrong? You don't look so good."
"No, I'm just tired, I got home late."
"JC had a big night," said Joey. He winked at Chris.
"Naughty Naughty JC," said Chris.
JC laughed. "We were jst talking."
"Sure you were," said Justin.
"No I'm serious," said JC. "Where's Lance?"
"He was busy," said chris.
Justin spun the ball on his finger. "Are we going to play Basketball or not?" asked Chris.
JC grabbed the ball from Justin and made a layup. They split up in teams of three. Justin, Joey and Luke against JC, Chris and Jason. They played to 30 and took a break.
"We're gonna go get lunch," said Justin. "Does anyone else want to come?"
"I will," said Chris.
Justin, Chris, Luke and Jason left. "So, what did you really do last night?" Joey asked JC.
"I went to the funeral and I took Maggie home. Then she asked me to stay so I stayed and we talked for a while."
"That's it?"
"That's it. Her fionce just died, she's not ready for another serious relationship yet."
"Do you like her?" asked Joey.
"Yeah, I do."
"Don't let anyone take her away."
"Believe me, I won't."

The next week JC was over at Maggie's house. They were watching Enemy of The state on Pay Per View. When the movie was over JC turned off the tv. He turned to Maggie and said in a quiet voice, "I've been writing a song... I wan't you to hear it." He cleared his throat and looked into her eyes as he began to sing.

"I know your hurting deep down inside,
I know the pain that your feeling.
But you came into my life so suddenly,
And I can't let you go that easily.
Give Me a Chance,
Let me show you how I feel.
Let me love you,
let me prove my love is real."

JC stopped. "That's all I have so far," he said in a low voice. Maggie eaned forward and kissed JC.
"That was beautiful."
"Thank's, I wrote it for you."
Maggie smiled and looked down. "I will."
"What?" asked JC.
"I'll give you a chance."
JC kissed Maggie. "Thank You."

"No, I'm meeting Maggie in 20 minutes," said JC.
"You do everything with her," said Justin in an exasperated tone.
"He's in love," said Joey in a sappy voice.
"You know what?" asked JC.
"What?" asked Justin.
"I think I am."
