Fallen Angel
Fallen Angel
Megan Cox
Do you believe in angels? No? Why not? Oh, I guess
I'll stop asking questions. But it's hard for me to believe,
that your believe angels don't exist. I mean, when your time
comes, where are you going to go?
Well, I guess there are the skeptics out there, who
believe in reincarnation, and that's fine with me. But
myself, I believe in angels. I don't know why, but I guess I
kind of have to after a friend of mine told me something
that had happened to a friend of hers a couple of years
back.
What happened you ask? Well, I guess I'll tell
you . . .
"Pass it here!"
"No! Over here!"
"JC! You're not even on my team!"
"Just pass it to me anyway!"
The boys from the group *N Sync had decided to take
a break from Playstation, and go outside to play b-ball. Of
course, as we all know, Justin and Chris are the only really
good players!
Surprisingly, Justin passed the ball to Joey, who
had no clue what to do with it.
"THROW IT AT THE NET!" Justin yelled, pointing at
the net. Joey tossed the ball, and it actually went in!
"Holly smokes!" said Justin. "We won! We won! In your face
JC!"
"No fair!" Chris pouted. "We got stuck with Lance!"
"Hey!"
"Sorry. No offense!"
"Whatever!" Lance said, walking over to the bench.
Joey picked up the ball, and just dribbled it around the
court a little. The whole group was silent.
They listened to the calm sounds of the Floridian
night. Like the chirpping crickets, and the rushing water in
a near-by stream.
"This is so beautiful," Chris sighed.
"Yeah," JC added.
The calm silence of the night was loudly interupted,
by a shrill scream coming from over the hill.
"What the hell was that?" Lance asked, looking up.
"I don't know," Joey replied.
"Think we should go check it out?" Justin asked.
"I guess," JC said. "I mean, if someone is hurt or
something, we should help them, right?"
Everyone nodded in agreement, and walked out of the
court. The walked over the grassy hill, and looked out onto
the field below them.
"Whoever screamed is gone," Chris said softly.
Everyone looked around some more, then came to the
conclusion that Chris was right.
"Hey wait!" JC said. "What's that?" Everyone looked
to where he was pointing to see someone, or something,
laying on the ground in the middle of the field.
"Let's go check it out!" Justin said. Everyone ran
down the steep hill, and came to a stop when the stood only
meters from what they had all seen.
"What is it?" Joey asked. Chris stepped up, and
looked at it.
"I . . . it's a girl."
"Is . . . she alive?"
Chris knelt down, and placed his hand on her neck to
try and find a paulse.
"Yep," he replied. "She's alive."
Chris was breathtaken by her beauty. Her hair was
long, and curly, and in it were two sparkling white
butterfly hair clips. She wore a short, slightly tight white
dress, that was cut just a little above her knees.
She stirred slightly, which caused Chris to take a
step back.
"She's waking up," Lance said. She opened her eyes
to reveal the almost crystal blue color to them.
"Ar . . . are you okay?" Chris asked.
"I . . . I think so," she replied, sitting up.
"Do you want us to take you back to our place?" JC
asked.
"Well, sure," she replied. "But, I can't stand up."
"No problem!" Joey said. "I'll carry you."
"Well, thanks a whole bunch!" she said. "That was
quiet a fall!"
"I'll say!" Justin said. "We heard you scream."
Joey smiled as he bent down to pick her up. But as
soon as he did, everyone seemed to go into a state of shock.
There were a few white feathers on the ground. And
on her back, were two white, feathered wings.
Trying to forget the wings on her back, they all
walked back to Justin's place. Joey set her down on the
couch, as JC went to go get an ice-pack.
"So," said Chris, "um--"
"Yes," she said. "I do belong to the divine. I'm an
angel."
"But--"
"I fell from heaven."
"Wh--"
"Because I have a duty to do."
"Wha--"
"To bring someone true happiness."
"Wow!" said Chris. "That was pretty--"
"Freakish? I know."
JC walked over to her, and placed the ice-pack on
her leg.
"Thank-you, Joshua."
JC's eyes widened.
"How did--"
"Over there is young Justin, to his left his the
forever caring James, beside him is the flirtatious Joseph,
sitting by me is the playful Christopher, and standing in
front of me is the mature Joshua," she said, pointing
everyone out.
"Well, we just go by Justin, Lance, Joey, Chris and
JC," Lance said.
"I shall remember that," the angel said.
"Can we ask questions now without you answering them
before we can ask them?" Chris asked.
"Yes you may. But I shall be brief, not too many
questions. For I am very tired."
"Understood," Chris said.
"So," started JC, "what's your name?"
"Up in heaven, I am called Chandaila. For reasons I
do not know. But, I like to be called Megan when ever
possible."
"Megan it is then!" Joey said. "So, what are you
doing here?"
"God believes that I have not done any good for the
world in the past three hundred years. So he told me to go
down to Earth, and find someone to bring happiness to. And I
cannot go back until I do," Megan replied.
She glanced at all of them, and rubbed her leg.
"Are any of you in need of happiness?"
"I can't say that we are," JC replied. "We have
everything we could possibly want."
"Are you sure of that?" Megan asked.
"Absolutely sure," Lance said.
"Well then," Megan said, "I shall be going then soon
after my leg heals to find someone to give happiness to."
"Why don't you just stay here?" Chris asked. "I
mean, we don't mind!"
"Thank you ever so much, Chris!" Megan said,
embracing him in a hug. "I hope I will not be a problem for
you."
"Think nothing of it!" Chris said. Megan smiled
sweetly at him, and he smiled back. He couldn't help but
wonder if he himself was happy enough, but he also couldn't
help but think of how beautiful Megan was.
Megan had fallen asleep on the couch, while everyone
else was in the kitchen.
"What are we gonna do?" Lance asked.
"What do you mean?" Joey asked.
"We can't keep her here!"
"Why not?" Chris asked. "She's got nowhere else to
go."
"Did you ever suspect that maybe she's not an angel?
She might be a fan, just out to get our attention," Lance
said.
"I myself believe she is truely an angel," JC said.
"Think about it for a second, Lance. She's got wings!"
Lance sighed. "I suppose," he said. "But, why would
she fall near us?"
"Because of the laws of gravity?" Chris asked
sarcastically.
"Very funny," Lance said. "But, why wouldn't she
just fly down?"
"I think one of her wings might be injured too,"
Joey said.
"Might be," Justin said, shrugging his shoulders.
Chris looked over at her as she stirred, and then
sat up. She looked over at Chris, and smiled. He smiled
back, almost blushing.
"Hello, Chris," she said.
"Hi," he said back. He stood up and grabbed her
hand. He pulled her up off the couch, and looked into her
eyes. "Need help standing up?"
"No, but thank you. I think I shall be fine now,"
Megan replied.
"Great. Is your wing hurt at all?" Chris asked.
"It appears to be fine," Megan replied. "But thank
you for asking."
"Great," Chris said again. Chris could feel the
redness coming to his cheeks as Megan smiled at him, and
held his hands.
"Chris, you are blushing," she said.
"That's because you're so pretty."
"Thank you," Megan replied. "But I must warn you, do
not get attached to me."
"Why not?"
"Because you know that I can not stay."
"You don't use contractions, do you?" Chris asked,
raising an eyebrow.
"Never," Megan replied. "Why must we?"
"I don't see your point."
"Do not worry, no one ever does."
Chris sat in his room, reading a book, when there
was a light knock at his door.
"Come in," he said softly. The door opened, and
there stood Megan, smiling at him. Chris smiled back at her,
and blushed yet again. "What can I do for you?"
"Nothing," Megan replied, "I just came to see you."
"Oh?"
"Yes," Megan replied, walking up to Chris, and
sitting on his bed. "It may seem a little straight-forward,
but I know that you are in need of happiness."
"Me?"
"Yes, you," Megan replied. "Something is missing in
your life, and I intend to help you find it." Megan placed
her hand over Chris's heart, and closed her eyes. "You need
someone to love. Your heart is crying out for something or
someone. You need love."
"We have a song about that," Chris said. Megan
smiled and looked up at him.
"Tomorrow, I shall take you out, and help you find
someone."
"But won't everyone be a little freaked when they
see an angel?" Chris inquired.
"Oh!" Megan laughed. "Oh no! I shall be invisible,
so only you will be able to see me."
"Sweet!" Chris said. Megan giggled, and stood up.
"Remember, tomorrow shall be a new day, and we will
find you someone to love," she said, as she began to walk
out of Chris's room.
"Alright," Chris said, as she left and closed the
door behind her.
Chris fell down on his bed and couldn't help but
feel . . . wrong.
'Is it just me,' he asked himself, 'or am I truely
in love with an angel?'
The next morning, Chris awoke to the sounds of
singing birds. He turned over on his back, and looked
around. Megan sat at his desk, looking at her nails.
"What are you doing in here?" he asked, sitting up.
"You do not remember?" she asked, standing up. Chris
looked her up and down.
She was even more beautiful today then she was
yesterday! At least, he thought. She had the same outfit as
yesterday, only her cheeks seemed brighter, and she wore a
pair of white high-heels.
"Of course I remember," Chris said, kicking the
covers of his bed off his body. "But I just woke up, why do
I--"
"Because we need to get a head start. And it is also
eleven o'clock."
Chris looked at the digital clock beside his bed,
and laughed.
"I must've slept in," he said.
"Yes, you did," Megan said, pulling him up. "Now get
dressed. I want to make you happy."
"Uh, before I do, I have a question for you."
"And what might that be?"
"Well, actually, two questions."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. Um, how old are you?"
"Three hundred and twenty four."
Chris's eyes widened.
"But, I am only twenty four. That's how old I was
when I died."
"Uh, that's my second question. How did you die?"
"It was an act of courage, Chris," Megan said,
walking up to him. "I lived with my mother, father, sister,
and pet dog, Rascal. One evening, there was a fire at our
farm. My sister, Christine, would always go to the barn late
at night, and write poetry. The fire was caused by a thunder
storm, and Christine was in there. I took it upon myself to
go out there and save her. I got her out, but I never made
it. A rafter fell on top of me, and burned me alive."
"Oh god," Chris said softly.
"But, to tell you the truth, I have enjoyed being an
angel. There are so many things that happen now that never
would've happened then," Megan said.
"Like what?"
Megan walked up to Chris, and placed a gentle kiss
on his lips.
"I never would have met you."
Chris walked down the street, trying to ignore the
fact that someone was walking beside him, but yet, was not.
"See anyone yet?" Chris asked.
"Not anyone worthy of your love," Megan replied.
They continued to walk a little more, until Megan
grabbed his arm, and looked him in the eye.
"Over there," she said, pointing.
Chris looked over to see a beautiful young women.
She had long blonde hair, and piercing green eyes. She had a
nice figure, and long legs.
"Forget it!" said Chris. "She wouldn't like me."
"Just try it!" Megan said.
"Well, alright."
Chris casually walked over to her. She was sitting
on a park bench, reading a book.
"Um, hi."
The young lady looked up at him, and smiled.
"Hi," she said softly. "Wanna sit?"
"Uh, I guess."
Chris sat down next to her, and smiled.
"I'm Chris."
"I'm Autumn."
"Nice to meet you, Autumn," Chris said, shaking her
hand.
"Likewise," Autumn said.
"Um, are you free tonight?"
"That all depends. Are you asking me out?"
"I guess so."
"Sure," Autumn said. "Here's my address," she said,
pulling a small card out of her purse.
"Gee, thanks!" Chris said. "Pick ya up at seven?"
"Okay."
Autumn got up and walked away. Megan sat down next
to Chris, and smiled.
"She seems really nice."
"Yeah. She does, doesn't she?"
Chris knew he was lying. He didn't like her. He
didn't like her at all.
He knew he loved Megan . . . but he knew that she
wouldn't let him love her.
It was late that night, and Megan, JC and Justin
were watching televison.
"Well," said JC, "I'm going to sleep."
"JC, are you forever going to go to sleep at only
ten o'clock?" Megan inquired.
"Maybe," JC replied, shrugging his shoulders and
going upstairs to his bedroom. Megan laughed a little, and
sat back. Justin looked at her, and smiled.
"How will you know when you've made somebody happy?"
"God will send a shooting star across the sky late
the night that I have done my duty."
"Bitchin'!" Justin said. "I wanna be there. Shooting
stars are so pretty."
"You are more than welcome to come then," Megan
said, brushing a lock of her hair behind her ear.
Just then, the door opened, and Chris walked.
"Chris," Megan started, "how was your date with
Autumn?"
"Terrible!" Chris yelled. "She dumped me before we
could even get to the movie theater."
"That is so cruel!" Justin said.
"And the freaky thing about it was that we were
gonna go see 'Cruel Intentions'!"
Chris said.
"Oh, I am so sorry to hear that," Megan said.
"It's alright," Chris said. "It probably wouldn't
have worked out anyway."
Megan and Justin watched silently as Chris walked
upstairs to his bedroom.
"I am going upstairs to talk with him. See you
tomorrow, Justin."
"Buh-bye!"
Chris sat in his room, thinking about the past
night. He didn't really care that Autumn had dumped him. He
deep within his heart that he loved Megan. Even if she was
an angel, he still loved her.
There was a knock at his door, just as he was
getting ready to go to bed.
"Come in," he said softly.
The door opened, and Megan walked in.
"Megan. Hi," Chris said.
"Hello, Chris," Megan said, walking into his room.
"Chris, I sense that there is something you are not telling
me."
"Well . . . yeah. I guess."
"Are you going to tell me?" Megan asked, sitting
down on Chris's bed.
"Well, I guess I should. But you have to promise not
to be mad."
"I shall try."
"I . . . I . . . I think I'm in love with you."
"Me!?" Megan asked, stepping back. "Why on Earth
would you be in love with me!?"
"I don't know!" Chris said, taking her hands in his.
"But I am."
"Chris, you know we can never be."
"I know, I know! I've told myself that over and
over! But my heart just doesn't understand," Chris said.
Megan felt tears come to her eyes as she hugged
Chris. She had never been loved before.
"Oh, Chris," she sighed. "I think I might be in love
with you too."
Chris sighed as Megan's arms incircled her.
"Please, don't go," Chris said.
"But you know I have to once I have made someome
happy."
"You've made me happy just by being here," Chris
said. "I don't want you to go."
"I am sorry, but that is not for you to decide. I am
dead," Megan said.
"I know, but I just . . . don't know what to do."
"Save it," Megan said, putting her finger to Chris's
lips. "We can never be, you knew that before now."
Chris pulled her close, and placed a sweet, tender
kiss on her lips.
"Chris, no!" Megan said, pushing him away.
"No, please. Just let me."
Megan said nothing, and just let Chris kiss her
again. Chris pushed her down to his bed, still kissing her.
Megan moved her hands up Chris's back, and pulled him down
on top of her. Chris ran his fingers through Megan's hair,
and took out the two butterfly hair clips. He set them down
on his nightside table, and continued kissing her.
Megan slowly pulled Chris's shirt over his head, and
tossed it aside. She moved her hands down his torso, and
undid his belt buckle. She broke the kiss, and looked into
his eyes.
"This is wrong," she said.
"I know, but I can't help myself."
Chris began kissing Megan again, as she pulled his
jeans down his legs. Chris somehow managed to take off
Megan's dress, but it proved to be a hard task.
With the wings and all . . .
Chris pulled away from Megan for a second, and
looked into her eyes.
"You're beautiful."
"Thank you. I don't think I want to go back anymore.
I love you too," Megan said.
"You just used a contraction," Chris said.
"Like I care."
Chris smiled at her, as she began to slide Chris's
boxers off his legs. Chris kissed her again, and began to
undo the straps of her bra. He tossed that aside, and then
began to pull her panties down her legs.
"Is everything you wear white?" he asked.
"Either that or light beige," she replied. Chris
smiled and kissed her again. Megan pulled Chris even closer
to her, and looked into his eyes.
"I'm sure I love you," she said. Chris gently kissed
her nose.
"I'm sure that I love you too," he said.
Megan sighed as Chris's lips gently touched hers
again. Megan pulled Chris even closer to her, if possible,
and ran her fingers through his braids. As they both
continued with their kisses, Megan could feel Chris's
erection brush up against her leg. She broke the kiss, and
looked into Chris's eyes, which were clouded with passion.
"Now," she said softly. Chris nodded, and kissed her
again. As the kisses continued, Megan could feel Chris enter
her. "Oh! Oh, Chris!" she cried. Megan dug her nails into
Chris's back, causing him to yelp slightly. "I'm sorry!"
"No, no, it's alright," Chris said, running his
fingers through Megan's hair. Megan smiled, and kissed him
again.
"Chris, I love you."
"I love you too," Chris said softly. They both
kissed again, and again, and again, until Chris reached his
climax. Megan did as well shortly after he did. Chris
collapsed on top her, and breathed deeply. Megan ran her
fingers through Chris's hair, and gently kissed his
forehead.
"You've made me happy," Chris said.
"I'm glad. Because you've made me happy too."
Chris and Megan both laid there, gently carressing
eachother. Chris moved his hands to Megan's back, and gently
carressed her wings. He then remembered that she had to go
back after making someone happy.
Now Chris wished that they hadn't just made love.
