Superstar Mom!

Its wild to be the mom of a star, but it's even wilder when you have two famous kids. Tiger Beat chatted with Jane Carter- the mom of Nick and Aaron Carter- about her very special family!

Ask any parent and they'll glow with pride telling you how special their kids are. Whether their child is a math whiz, a video game expert, a cheerleader, a singer- it doesn't matter. Parents take special pride in the talents and accomplishments that make their kids unique from all the other kids their age. It's a parent's right to be proud. Just ask Jane Carter!
Like most moms, Jane holds a special place in her heart for each and every on of her kids. She and husband Bob have a total of five gorgeous children- theres Nick, Bobbie Jean (called B.J. by her family), Leslie and the two youngest, fraternal twins Angel and Aaron. Each is very special in his or her own way. Of course, fans know that 18-year-old Nick is the blond-haired cutie from Backstreet Boys while Aaron (who's younger than his twin sister by two minutes) has recently begun his own singing career. Needless to say, Jane, who helps manage Aaron's career, is just about bursting with pride.
Ask Mrs Carter where her songs got their musical talen and she'll explain that an ear for music runs in the family. "My husband used to have a band when he was a teenager," she says. "There's music on my mother's side too. My grandfater, Neil, was a really well-renowned organist and he did the church choir for 25 years." Her children have also shown a flair for learning musical instruments. "Aarons learning guitar and eh's learned vocals," she says with pride. "Nick learned vocals and he taught himself to play the drums." She laughs. "When Nick is home you always know it because the drums are like bam, bam, bam... It's crazy!"
While the Carter girls haven't set their sights on musical careers yet, eldest sister B.J. has started getting involved with modeling and acting. "Bobbie, my 16-year-old daughter, is shooting a music video this week," she reveals the day of Aaron's California video shoot for his first American single, a remake of "Surfin' USA." "She's not singing, but she's acting in a music video in Germany [for] an artist named Gil. She's going to be the love interest in his video." Thats not all! "My daughter Leslie is showing some interest in guitar," she adds.
While Nick and Aaron share a common love of music, the Carter boys have very different personalities, mom reveals. Aaron is "a little mischievous. Hes's a lot more outgoing than Nick and he gets into a lot more truble than Nick did, but, of course, Nick got into his share of trouble too."
As the oldest boy in the family, Nick is naturally protective of his younger siblings. He's been watching Aaron's career (Nick is one of Aaron's managers) with the hopes that his younger bro will have an easier time getting into the business than he did.
"Nick's concerned because he doesn't want Aaron to have to work so hard. We learned a lot of things the hard way," says Jane, remembering the days when Nick was a young singer struggling to be recognized. "Now I know a lot more so its a lot easier."
Aaron's career has undoubtedly been helped by his appearances at Backstreet boys' concerts this summer. The adorable 10-year-old has been wowing fans by opening up their high energy shows with his peppy songs. Traveling around the country together has given Nick and Aaron a chance to hang out together too. "They're very close," sasys Jane proudly. "Last night was the first time they'd seen each other since January. It was really touching, Nick had to beat him up!" Even when they're famous, boys will always be boys!
