Nearly everywhere these five young men go they are literally inundated with a massive amound of fans, most of them female, swooning and diving into the group attempting contact on any level. Is this a problem?
Well, on some levels it may be, still, the Backstreet Boys are always pleasant, embracing their fans, their fame, and their friends as eagerly as before.
Although fame has brought them widespread attention, they have not found true love yet. All five members are single and insist that their careers just do not allow them enough time to shower the women of their dreams with adoration and affection. In the meantime, girls, consider these special needs and desires of the famous fivesome. Some of you may be very surprised at the answers we received when we asked about the girls of their dreams.
"I fall for the girls who have charisma and plenty of confidence. Plus she should have a terrific sence of humor. It doesn't matter what she looks like, honestly!" -A.J.
"I like natural looking girls. I enjoy women who can talk for hours without getting bored. To me, girls who don't talk or speak their mind are not very attractive. I also value a sence of humor. It is great if a girl is confident and accepts herself, and she must be intelligent. Trust is also very important." -Howie
"I love it when a girl dresses to impress. It is very important that we can talk on the same level. I mostly hate it when people lie or break promises." -Kevin
"The most important thing is her personality. She has got to know what she wants and how to get it." -Brian
"More than anything, personality counts. A girl who always agrees with everything is not for me. I love a challenge, the risk that things could go wrong. I am always faithful. If I had a girlfriend, I'd never even look at other girls. To be honest, I haven't been in love yet, and I've never had htat strange "butterflies-in-the-stomach' feeling. I've never fallen in love. If i did find a woman, I'd really spoil her." -Nick
Contrary to popular reports, the boys are known to embrace their fans whenever possible, sometimes remaining in contact with them by telephone. A.J. has even dated some of his fans after his heart was broken during the breakup with his longtime girlfriend last August.
"When I broke up with my girlfriend I felt horrible. We had been going out for over three years and I was madly in love with hre. I was down for weeks and nobody could even talk to me," says A.J. "To date a fan," he continues, "isn't unlikely... our fans are very special to us. We have a very close realationship with them and many of them go out of their way to meet us, or to see us for mere moments. Like when it was Howie's birthday and a fan flew halfway around the world just to bring him a birthday cake."
Unfortunatly the young woman was mislead because Howie was in Germany at the time and never got a chance to meet her, but the seniments do not go unnoticed. "We know and understand just what we mean to our fans and we can not stress enough just how important each and every one of them is to all of us. Without them, well, we couldn't do what we do," explains A.J.
