Manager - Technical Services, accountable for, but not limited to, maintaining and increasing natural gas sales from existing commercial and industrial customers, maximizing natural gas load from newly acquired customers, and investigating new gas technologies and equipment to develop a strategy for the viable market. Coordinate with economic developers to recruit industries into the areas.

Accomplishments:  Managed and negotiated a gas turbine project resulted in gaining multi million dollar gas revenue; managed all engineers in exceeding goals in performance objectives; one engineer received salesman of the year award; established Award for industrial projects and designed spreadsheet  program for natural gas cooling economic analysis;  developed Lotus Notes to track sales calls, project status, and business contacts.

Supervisor - Technical Services, responsible for supervising, training, and motivating technical services engineers; setting annual goals; evaluating market trends and geographic economies; evaluating and selecting technical and sales training courses; evaluating and selecting computer softwares, power monitoring equipment, and combustion analyzer equipment to maximize the productivity of technical services engineers in gaining annual sales.

Accomplishments: worked with North Carolina Energy Division in converting six Charlotte Mecklenburg School buses to natural gas; worked with South Carolina Department of Energy and Greenville Transit Authority in specifying four dedicated natural gas mid-size buses; designed computer programs to calculate natural gas rates and for electric rates, programs to evaluate feasibility of using a natural gas generator for peak shaving, programs to estimate space heating energy consumption using ASHRAE bin method.

Technical Services Engineer, responsible for making sales calls to commercial and industrial customers; performing energy audits, energy and economic analyses; contacting equipment vendors and manufacturers, designing and specifying firms, and installation companies to increase natural gas sales; providing technical support to commercial and industrial sales representatives.

Accomplishments:  Sold a 4.5 Mega-watts cogeneration system; converted a major grocery store design from a total electric to natural gas.

United Merchants Research Center
Langley, South Carolina

Research and Development Engineer, worked closely with chemists in developing reactors for textile chemicals; researched and developed processes for textile applications; and supervised a group of mechanics to maintain all mechanical systems in the research center and to build pilot apparatuses.

Accomplishments: designed and supervised the construction of a pilot process for continued reaction of polymerization; designed and supervised the construction of an unattended batch reactor for polymers.
