Hometown Pride!! Hmm. What is that?
Could it be defined as the feeling you get walking down the sidewalk in your neighborhood and you see family and/or friends on every corner? Or could it be the feeling you get when dining at a local restaurant where everyone knows you by name and knows who your family is, what you do or maybe even tells you how proud they are of your children's accomplishments? Perhaps it is that feeling you get when you drive down the street and everyone you see waves and smiles back at you?
Hometown Pride can be found under the Friday night lights at the local high school. It is also found in our church's congregations.
Hometown Pride is waiting on each of us in our business community. It is right where it has always been. Just think about how much "visiting" we do when we go to town for supplies, for clothes, for groceries, or while we are in the hair salon.
Let's make a vow to be more aware of our hometown and its people. Let's decide to do our part in keeping the spirit of Hometown Pride in Tabor City alive and well. Our community, this charming and warm hometown of ours, has been good to us. Why not return the favor! May we take care of each other and of our hometown.
We'd like to remind everyone that we are planning an event for our senior citizens during the month of September. Just keep reading this column for upcoming details.
