The information regarding the Tabor City High School Alumni Reunion is not totally accurate on the Schedule of Events. That was an oversight on my part and I apologize for that. All of the important details follows:
The Tabor City High School Alumni Reunion is scheduled to begin at 2:00 o'clock p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Beth Rogers Woody Auditorium, Tabor City Elementary School . The doors will open at 1:00 o'clock p.m. for registration and for the alumni to visit.
At 2:00 o'clock p.m. the Class of 1963 will march down the aisle to "Pomp and Circumstance" and be in charge of the program.
The Class of 1963, after enjoying the All-Tabor Alumni Reunion, will go over to the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul United Methodist Church for the Class of 1963 50th Reunion .
There will be music from 1959 to 1963 played on an 8-track player owned by our classmate W.H. Morris who also has many 8-track tapes. Chris Canady Coleman has arranged for wonderful food to be served and it should be a great time of remembering, catching up and planning future reunions. Already some of us are meeting each Thursday for lunch.
Jim Smith has volunteered, as to the All-Tabor Alumni Reunion, to play the piano to accompany the entire group assembled as we sing songs which were very much part of our graduation. One is "I Walk With God" and the other is "You will never walk alone".
Bradley Tyler and Anthony Gray, who started the Mega Reunion three years ago, are urging the 211 members who are on the Mega Reunion Facebook Page to attend the All Tabor Alumni Reunion and have invited all alumni to show up at Pirate's Cove in North Myrtle Beach later on the evening of Saturday, October 26, 2013.
The alumni have been urged to be present for the parade and other events associated with the Yam Festival. Alumni will have the opportunity to register at the train depot museum from 8:45 until 10:30 and also to register at the Beth Rogers Woody Auditorium.
Alumni are being encouraged to make a contribution to the Lewis A. Sikes Foundation to help with the restoration of the Ritz. Check donations or cash can be put in the Don Hughes' contribution box during the reunion on October 26, 2013 or forward checks payable to the Lewis A. Sikes Foundation, which is a tax deduction, to Richard Wright, P.O. Box 457 , Tabor City , NC 28463 with a notation on the check stub that it is for the Ritz restoration.
