Tabor Talk

We trust that all of our area Dads enjoyed a wonderful Father's Day this past Sunday.

Believe it or not, summer officially hit us this past Monday! With the recent high temps, I can only imagine what our summer has in store.

One thing that our summer holds for us is our nation's birthday. It is almost time to celebrate with one of our county's favorite and best attended events...the Annual Columbus County Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration.

This is year number 29 and we have been getting this event organized for the surrounding area for quite awhile now.

Saturday, July 2 is the day we have set aside to honor our veterans and active military as we celebrate our nation's birthday at South Columbus High School. A great evening of family fun is planned with entertainment, inflatables, food, and fireworks!

Pre-fireworks entertainment will be provided by our county's rising star, Dustin Chapman. Dustin is relentlessly working hard to achieve his dreams.

Tabor City native, Rebekka Harper Powers who now resides in Gaston County, will entertain us as will Christian Grate and TJ James McPherson.

More information regarding the fireworks extravaganza will be provided as the day draws closer.

Keep in mind that Tabor City is hosting the Dixie Youth Baseball Coach Pitch (7-8 y/o) State Tournament July 1-5. We hope to see you all at the Athletic Complex behind Food Lion.

The Ritz Center is certainly a "plus" for Tabor City. For event and rental information, please call Dianne Nobles Ward, Ritz Center Manager, at 910-653-4141.

The NC Yam Festival is only a few short months away. Make sure you hold October open for Yam events.

Tabor City is such a wonderful community in which to visit, live, work, shop, play, and worship. Let's show our support and pride in all we endeavor to achieve. Let's work together please. We will all be better for the effort!
