What is your purpose in your current career or workplace?
Did you ever stop and think that perhaps you are exactly where you are meant to be? We all have a purpose in life and you could very likely be where you are for a very specific purpose.
Not everyone is cut out for the same type of job. Different people have different skills. Yes, often we do share common skills; however there are those with unique skills. Whatever your skills are, use them to the fullest each and every day in whatever you do. Your employers, customers, clients, etc. will most certainly notice that you are giving it your all.
Remember that being able to work is a blessing. Serving others is an awesome deed within itself. Let’s keep in mind that even with our commonalities, we are still a one-of-a –kind human being. Albert Einstein even said, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
Our chamber recognizes that our chamber members and community as whole share a common goal to see Tabor City, not only survive, but to thrive. Let’s use our skills through the Tabor City Chamber of Commerce, the NC Yam Festival, the Tabor City Spring Festival, our various civic groups, churches, etc. to achieve that goal. As stated in last week’s column...Tabor City is our favorite team so it is our job to cheer her on and help her be the best town it can possibly be. We must keep on with our efforts to plant, nurture and grow!
Mark those calendars!!!! Tabor City Spring Festival is Saturday, April 5. Stay tuned for more details. Your Chamber has a fun event planned as our contribution to the Tabor City Spring Festival. We will hold a Corn Hole Tournament set to begin as soon as the parade ends. Call us at the number below for more information. Corn Hole Committee Chairman, Whitney Hughes of First Community Bank, has the chamber board excited about this event. We will bring you the specifics in next week’s column.
Please keep reading this column weekly for information regarding the Tabor City Easter Egg Hunt and the Administrative Professional’s event scheduled for mid to late April.
This year is going to be an exciting year. Tabor City has the Ritz Renovation Project underway, the Tabor City Spring Festival has added even more events to their schedule, the NC Yam Festival plans are well on their way to offering something fresh, and the Chamber of Commerce has pledged to do even more for our membership family via the Social Media promotion. The list of things to look forward to may not be endless, but it is too much to mention in one column. Don’t forget that Together Everyone Achieves More. We are all on the same TEAM!
