"Discovering Your Purpose" Crusade is scheduled for August 4 and 5 at Tabor City Elementary School. This inspiring event will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 4 and will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 5.

"Discovering Your Purpose" Crusade guest speakers will be Elder Sandie Faulk and Author Phyllis Elvington. These 2 women are absolutely amazing presenters. Special entertainment will be provided by Dustin Chapman and Taylor Page. You will not want to miss any of this so plan to attend!

Our Chamber is looking forward to assisting with this event any way we possibly can. We hope to see you there!

We are trying to get the word out as early as possible this year regarding Christmas on the Lake.

Christmas on the Lake was held for the first time in 2016. Plans are underway to add more for the kids to do during this December 16 event.

Last week, we told you about a new event planned for this holiday season, Christmas Parade of Homes. This event will be sponsored by Dixie Belle Place and is scheduled for December 2. More information will be provided in the weeks ahead.

This is the year to celebrate our 32nd NC Yam Festival!

On behalf of the NC Yam Festival, we'd like to remind you that Tabor City residents within the city limits may participate in the decorating contest this year! Tabor City is going to look awesome this Fall!

Residents and Businesses: The judging criteria is:
1) Use of Yams in Theme
2) Originality
3) Creativity
4) Attractiveness
Scores of 1-10 points per each of the above. Maximum of 40 points available per judge. Get those creative minds busy!

Volunteers are needed to help with the festival so please call us if you are willing and able.

The search search continues for members of the Tabor City High School's Class of 1967. If you are a member of this class, please give us a call so we can put you in touch with the Tabor City High School Alumni Reunion Committee. They have lots of information to share with you regarding this year's TCHS Alumni Reunion which will take place on Yam Fest Saturday, October 28. The TCHS Class of 1967 is in charge of the program this year so classmates such as Rusty Carter Lucia Woody, and Bonnie Dale Shelley would love to hear from you. Please help us spread the word about the TCHS Alumni Reunion.

The NC Yam Festival would love to partner with you through the “Torch Bearer” sponsorship opportunity at a cost of $300.00. Corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available. Just call us for details.
