Spring is finally here! Flowers are blooming, grass is growing & the air smells beautiful!

The Easter Coloring Contest began this week at Tabor City Elementary School. As in previous years, we will have two age divisions: 4-6 and 7-10. A female and male winner will be selected in each age division. Deadline is Monday, April 6. Winners will be notified by Thursday, April 9. The winning four youngsters will each receive a $25 Savings Bond.

Teachers, Moms & Dads, please remember that the coloring must be done in crayon only. All entries must be on the form received from the school. No copies will be accepted. Good Luck boys & girls!

Keep your calendars marked for Friday, April 3. We are having our Spring Fund Raiser on Friday, April 3 in the Tabor City Public Library parking lot from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Steak Plates are $7 each. A donation will be made to the library from these proceeds.

If any business would like to place an order for steak plates, please give us a call & we’ll have the plates ready for pick up at the time you request. If you are a chamber member and your order is large enough we will deliver your plates. Now you can’t ask for anything better than that!

I now have the details of our much anticipated “WomanLESS Beauty Pageant”! Yes, I said womanLESS. The WomanLESS Beauty pageant will be held on Saturday, April 18 in the auditorium of South Columbus High School. The pageant will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Admission price is $5. Chamber Directors are selling tickets. You may also purchase tickets at the chamber office or the library. Yes, you can pay at the door. Our Directors are anticipating an evening of harmless fun-filled laughter! Call us if you are interested in entering or if you have any questions!

Save the date of Tuesday, April 28. We will host the annual Administrative Professionals Dinner. The speaker will be Mrs. Phyllis Elvington! Invitations will be mailed early next month. Detailed information will be provided on the invitation.

Our chamber office is undergoing a few money saving changes which will affect our phone & e-mail service. Please welcome Sweeties to our business community. Sweeties is a bakery which opened last Friday next door to Affordable Appliances on Fifth Street. We are happy to have Sweeties as a neighbor to our chamber office. The magnificent odor drives all their neighbors right in their open doors! Stop by and see for yourself.
