The main purpose of this crappy page is to extoll the virtues of the best band in the world, Suede. But first, some information on myself, not that anyone would be interested. My name is Lesley-Anne John, I'm 16(well nearly) and I'm from Singapore. My hobbies are mainly going crazy over Suede, and besides that, I don't have much of a life anymore.
Now,onto something far more interesting... SUEDE
Suede are
Suede has been my latest, greatest obsession, and they always will be. I'm interested in meeting fellow Suede fans, especially Suede used to be a four member band(I'm talking about the days after Simon joined, not the earlier days with Justine)comprising of Brett and Mat,who are the founding members of Suede which was originally Suave & Elegant, Simon and their ex guitarist, Bernard Butler, who has since left the band. In my opinion, Butler was an excellent guitarist, and when he left, there was a lot of fuss about who was to fill his shoes, and huge shoes they were. Suede placed and ad in the newspaper, and recruited 17 year old guitarist extraodinaire, Richard Oakes. Butler fans dismissed Oakes immediately, but I think he's done a wonderful job as guitarist so far!Oh He is Gone...
Neil John Codling, born on the 5th of December 1973 to a well to do family was a disgustingly cute kid, and grew up to be devastatingly gorgeous and an occasional model. Simon's cousin, he spent much of his time in Suede's studio, which was not that far from his house. He sat in on rehearsals and was on good terms with all band members. One day, Suede decided that it was tiresome for Oakes to double up as piano player during their recordings, and decided to get a keyboardist. When asked by Brett, Neil said that he could play, and from then on, he was part of the band. He made his first publis appearance at a secret show on the 27th of Jan 1996, at Hanover Grand. He was well-loved by all in the group, especially Brett, who "found him hilarious". Codling also does backup vocals and songwriting. He sang and wrote a b-side, "Digging a Hole", which is featured on the Lazy single. According to Brett, Neil is the best smoker in the band, and this is backed up by Neil's own statement that his worst habit is "smoking 40 a day". He is also the best at cricket in the band, juggles oranges aawww....how cute!-Lesley- and likes cats.Neil was rumoured to be gay as early as his high school days. His favourite insult is "why don't you all just fuck off?", his lifelong ambition that he has yet to fulfil is learning how to high jump, and the strangest gift he has received from a fan is a pair of padded handcuffs.
Suede is planning on recording their fourth and latest album in Thailand for a period of three months, and hopefully, they will decide to drop by Singapore since they found it so delightful, but the "nice" (you see, you can tell that I don't like them from the inverted commas)people at Sony are clamming up about it, so Singapore fans, we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed...Charlie(Suede's manager for the stupid people out there)was really impressed by Glen Ong's rendition of Beautiful Ones(I thought it SUCKED though)and promised that on account of that and the great time they had here, they'd be back sooner than expected, so I'm sure they'll get back to us.
