This is Stuff sent to me that would not otherwise belong in the Q&A. Also some stolen Ruglist stuff.

hey y'all, just wanted to tell you about a rather cool (at least cool to any rugburns/
poltz fans) time i had with mr. poltz. in april/may of this year, steve was
playing a four week residency at the tin angel in philadelphia. myself and the
other member of the band i'm in the keepsakes had attended all of the shows. we
had hung out and drank to excess with him and chris hopper, his tour manager,
at most of the shows. unfortunately we couldn't make the last show because we
were opening for the liquor giants at the kyber pass which is half a block away
the same night. steve & chris were on our guest list but couldn't make it due
to our scheduling. after we played, i went down to talk to them. they decided
to join us back at the khyber. when we arrived the liquor giants had just
finished. HERE"S WHERE IT GETS GOOD the liquor giants let us get up and use
their equip. and do "sky fucking line of toranto" & "right time for love"
with us backing and steve just singing and dri!
nking his glass of GOOD red wine. this was may 4th of this year. we have
pictures to prove this and/or if you'd like copies for the site. sorry if
this was longwinded, but i thought you'd dig the story.
get back to me if you want.... hoser

You guys really gotta start leaving your return e-mail addresse....lol cool story..
Hope he e-mails again...
Kevin

The Rugburns do something I do alot of. They do alot of things everybody does alot of. One of them is drinking Snapple and pissing in the bottles. My friend told me this. I felt even closer to them after hearing that. I later heard the same thing form somebody else so I think it's true. More stories will come soon. I've been super busy lately.

His page suddenly went*poof* along with so many others but a guy named Brian was honored with the privilage of playing the tabs to war for one of the rugburns performances. Many have heard this story but the moral is that you should LEARN THE GUITAR TABS. I'll try to have them up shortly.

If you dont have connection problems I noticed a recipe page for cheeze wiz. It's on the homepage. I found it intresting. check it out.

I wonder if Stee Poltz really had his lungs colapse(excuse spelling)?? Broken nose and leg are believeable.

The following was taken from a Rock gossip magazine. It was sent to me in my e-mail.

Maxee Maxwell from the KaB group Brownstone is about to begin work on a solo project which her publicist has described as a"rock-and-soul-oriented project." She hasn't begun yet, but Jewel collaborator Steve Poltz says he's working with Maxwell on the album. "We've written a couple of songs," says Poltz, "It's gonna be more alternative souding for her. It's cool, totally different. We'ere gonna put a wierd spin on it."I wanted to say, 'You were ment for me, but now I'm going to kill you,' says Steve Poltz, the co-writerof Jewel's "you were ment for me," leader of the Rugburns, and Mercury Records solo artist. "No really I once said to her, 'I wouldn't say'You were ment for me, and I was ment for you. That's corny, I'm not saying that line." Why is Poltz talking about this song now? Well, in support of his debut solo album, "One Left Shoe," due out March 17, Mercury is using a promotional ED to radio programmers and the press, and as an added value tool at record stores with Poltz's version of"You were ment for me" on it, as well as othe rnon-album tracks "Satan's Choir" and Nice Guys Finish Last." The ED also includes songs on "One Left Shoe" the first style, "Silver Lining," which Jewel performed live on her VH1 Hard Rock Live Special last year, and another song co-written with the blonde beauty " I thought I saw you last night," as well as "Good Morning."

Damn that took awhile to type... hope you like it!

My favorite show on tape is, unfortunately, >by far the worst quality recording I have of them. It's 3/2/96 >at Spreckles Theater in San Diego. That was a weird show at a very weird point in both group's careers. This was right at the beginning of Jewel's ascent into the stratosphere and there was a feeling in the air that both Jewel and the 'Burns were about to make a major leap. For some reason I remeber the 'Burns opening up for Jewel, but then, what's a 'Burns show without a little distorted memory? Even though most Rugburns fans were crossover Jewel fans (or were at least familiar with her), she was rapidly develoing her distinct faction. There was a definite difference between the drunken Rugburn fans and the Grateful Dead-ish EDA's. More than one of the gals near me wept during Jewel's set, while there was only one section of the audience that seemed to know when to sing along to the 'Burns songs. I thought the whole evening was weird. It was almost like a farewell concert, where everyone knew that the days of Jewel and Steve Poltz "belonging" to San Diego were almost over. That was certainly true for Jewel. I believe that was also Doc's last show - kind of a beginning of a the end for the 'Burns. Seeing them in a theatre, as opposed to a club was also weird. Not a complimentary venue at all. Does anyone remeber Gregory Page hanging out front babbling drunkspeak after the show? I dunno, I had fun that night, but things sure haven't been the same since...
