NEWS FOR FRIDAY MAY 6, 2000

Ken Shamrock defeated Alexander Otsuka in the 1st round in 9 minutes, 42 seconds with a standing punch. Otsuka got aggressive early, and early on both guys tried to mount each other and attempt armlocks. Otsuka took the worst of the beatings and Shamrock went from there to drop Otsuka with a standing punch for the win. It was good for Shamrock, he got a decent fight out of Otsuka.
Guy Metzger defeated Masaaki Satake by decision. Actually an okay performance from Satake, but Satake couldn't defend Metzger's attempt at take-downs. Satake did well in the second half of the fight, but not enough to warrant a decision victory. Satoru Sayama was at ringside and had been proclaiming that Satake would win guaranteed. Oops.
