Congratulations to the competition Color Guard Who placed 4th in the Blue and Gold Drill Meet on October 2 MEMBERSHIP: Each school will organize and train a color guard consisting of a minimum of 4 members. At the discretion of the SAI, units may have more than 1 color guard. All cadets are eligible to volunteer for the color guard provided they meet the following requirements:

a. WS/FCS eligibility for athletics or extracurricular activities.
b. Physically capable (not over weight).
c. No discipline or conduct problems.
d. Willing to attend practice conducted after school.
e. Have the desire, motivation, and capability
of becoming a member of the color guard.
f. Maintain an exceptional appearance while wearing the uniform.
g. Be willing to present the colors at athletic and official events after school hours, in include evenings and weekends.
COMPETITION: The SAI will take advantage of every opportunity to place his color guard in competition and on public display. Uniform will be prescribed for seasonal wear. Optional items may be prescribed by the SAI’s. Out of town performances and competition must be approved by the school system, principal, SAI, and parents of each cadet.

The Female Class "A" Uniforms



Non Commisioned Officers


1. The ROTC letters will be worn 5/8 inch above the notch on both collars with the center lines of the insignia bisecting the notch and parallel to the inside edge of the lapel.

2. The JROTC insignea will be worn centered on both lapels 1 and ¼ inches below the ROTC letters. The insignia will be positioned so that the center line bisects the center line of the JROTC letters.

3. Unit patch centered on right sleeve. The top of the insignia will be ½ inch from the shoulder seam.

4. Academic achievement insignia centered 1/8 inch above the nameplate.

5. Center the nameplate on the right side between 1 to 2 inches above top button. Adjust placement of the nameplate to conform to the individual frame difference.

6. Rank worn on shoulder loop as indicated below.

7. Center ribbons on the left side with the bottom row parallel to the bottom edge of the nameplate. Ribbons worn in Order of Merit (Academic awards, military awards, athletic awards, miscellaneous awards) from wearer’s right to left.

8. Center marksmanship/hanging medals with the upper portion ¼ inch below ribbons.

9. Center the crest on the left side between the second and third button.


Officers

1. Center rank on the shoulder loops between the top button and lower seam. The base of the insignia pinned toward the outside seam.

2. JROTC patch centered on left sleeve. The top of the insignia will be ½ inch down from the shoulder seam.

3. Center ribbons on the left side with the bottom row parallel to the bottom edge of the nameplate. Ribbons worn in Order of Merit (Academic awards, military awards, athletic awards, miscellaneous awards) from wearer’s right to left

4. Center marksmanship/hanging medals with the upper portion ¼ inch below ribbons.

What is and What does Color Guard do?
GENERAL: The color guard represents the cadet corps and their respective high schools at many formations, reviews, parades, athletic and official events throughout the year.
