Weapon Styles

Weapon styles are martial arts that concentrate on fighting with a certain class of melee weapons.  Weapon styles use the Melee Combat (MC) skill instead of the Body Combat skill. The possible weapon classes are: Axe, Club, Knife, Pole Arm, Sword, and Whip weapons.  When a character specializes in a weapon class, he practices less with the other weapons covered by the MC skill.
To specialize in a weapon class, first figure out the base skill of the MC skill. Then decide how many points you are going to take from that base to specialize in that weapon class, then add it to the base score for that specialty weapon class skill level.  However, for every point added to the specialty class, an equal amount must be subtracted from all other MC attacks.
For example, Johnny the Blade wants to specialize in knife fighting.  He has a 40 MC skill level.  He decides to use 25 of the 40 points to use for knife specialization.  So his Knife MC skill level would be considered 65 (40 + 25).  However, when using ANY OTHER MC weapon skill, the MC skill level is 15 (40 - 25).
It is strongly suggested to use the martial skills described above when creating Weapon Styles.  Weapon styles are limited, as they have no advantages or disadvantages, only teach one weapon type, and lower all other MC weapon skills. Weapon Styles can only be used with the Referee`s discretion and guidance.  Some examples are:

Martial Skills: Kiai, Meditation, Multiple Attackers Power Strike, Quick Draw
Weapon Kata: All single-edge swords

Nordic Rites of Courage
Created by Danish medieval reconstructionist Coruth DeBerg, the Nordic Rites of Courage are a number of mystic notions re-introduced to the world in the late 1990`s.  A Swedish soldier, DeBerg studied the Danish Vikings way of life and re-introduced the Rites of the Warrior.  He opened his Halls of Honor that taught these Rites, and they have slowly spread to other European countries.  Stressing honor, courage, and strength of both body and character, the Nordic warrior trains to be combat effective with the Battle Axe and throwing axe.  All Nordic warriors must have a 20 Throwing skill.  These modern Vikings are tenacious warriors, brave to a point of lunacy-much like their ancient brethren.
Weapon Kata: All axes
