who are willing to open their hearts
and their homes to the many needy dogs.
Welcome Fellow Dog Lovers,
We'd like to first say, Welcome to our Website! German Shepherd Rescue
is an all volunteer organization in Alamance County, North Carolina. We are
dedicated to saving the lives of abused, neglected, unwanted, and abandoned
German Shepherd Dogs.
We are committed to each and every dog that comes to our rescue. Our
commitment goes further than a place to stay until a permanent home can be
found. We provide every dog with food, water, all necessary medical care,
and most importantly, LOVE. Each dog is treated as if they were a member of
our family until they are placed into a family of their own.
We hope you'll agree, all of these dogs deserve better. They deserve a
second chance. No one knows better than we do:
About our Rescue
Background Info: German Shepherd Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of
as many German Shepherd Dogs as possible. We carefully screen all potential
adopters, in order to insure that the adopter and the dog are a good match.
We are funded primarily by donations and adoption fees. All money goes to
providing the best possible care for these dogs.
About Our Dogs: German Shepherd Rescue get our dogs from many different
places. Most are strays, abandoned, or unwanted dogs from area shelters. A
few are released by their owners for a variety of reasons. Most dogs we
receive are not registered dogs. However, occasionally we do get some that
are registered. All of these dogs have one thing in common. They need
Permanent, Loving Homes! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered before they
are placed into new homes. No dog adopted from the rescue will be allowed to
produce offspring! No exceptions!
Health Care for Our Dogs: All of our dogs, once placed up for adoption, will
be up-to-date on all vaccinations, this includes: Distemper, Hepatitis,
Leptospirosis, Parainfulenza, Parvovirus, and Coronavirus. All dogs are
given a routine de-worming, a Heartworm test to dogs 6 months and older, and
a Rabies vaccination to dogs 4 months and older. Any dog diagnosed with a
health problem or illness will be treated before being eligible for adoption.
