This course is an in-depth study of the biological processes, principles and concepts. Lecture, discussion, hands-on activities, student projects and library research are integrated with laboratory activities.

This course is designed to study biology ar a slower pace. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and concepts of biology. The goals and objectives for the course follow the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Together, Biology IA and IB are equivalent of a first course in Biology.

This course is an advanced second-level Biology course. It provides an extensive and rigorous study of selected topics that extend the first course in Biology. Activities are provided to strengthen student laboratory skills and efficiency in the use of the microscope.
