ISIS is an indivdual approach to this society. ISIS is open to Wiccans, Christians (Catholics, Protestants & Mormons), Druids, Shamans, Agnostics, Pagans, and many other spiritualities.

Feeling that the definition of the abbreviation is understood, let me give you a brief intro to the Goddess Isis. She is the Supreme Goddess of Egypt. Isis is the Goddess of marriage and domestic life, the moon, motherhood, fertility, magick, purification, initiation, reincarnation, success, womanhood, healing, spinning, weaving, advice, divination, civilization, agriculture, the arts, and protection. She is known for her blue eyes, dark hair and fair complexion.

In our trial to get SGA to recognize that we gather to educate, not to worship, The Carolinian, our school newspaper has published us on the front page of April 21st 1999. Volume 63, Issue 28. To read this two part article click on the following links...

In a vote by the SGA Senate on April 22, 1998 at 5pm, ISIS was passed as an organization recognized by the Student Government Association. The vote was passed by the majority of 18 to 5 senators. Blessed Be to Justice.

As far as Western Carolina University goes, the purpose of this organization is to provide a learning environment as well as a means of promotion for the equality and freedom of beliefs on the Western Carolina University Campus. We also wish to promote open-mindedness from one student to the next. Note that this group is not limited to Western's students, everyone is welcome, making it limitless.

ISIS is a meeting place for both teenagers and adults of every age. ISIS is a place of friends and fellowship, to talk, spread joy, hang out with friends, and help those in need. Our purpose is to educate the public, dispell ignorance and stereotypes, and create a greater understanding of who we are, our purpose and links that we have with each other.
