THE FINAL WORD

I have only wished that the only things going on in the PRAFF for the 1999 football season would be honest, clean football. I gave up on the clean aspect last season because the PRAFF contains players who, year in and out, will play dirty. That is understandable, but the Fajardo GIANTS seemed to be playing against, not only the other 7 teams in the league, but the dirty players these teams are composed of and the referees as well. So far I have counted 5 of our touchdowns this season in three games that have been called back on bull@#%$ calls. Now it seemes to me that all of this is trickling down from the top. Let's look at the facts: In the 1998 season the GIANTS ran an explosive NAVY ACADAMY offense. The GIANTS beat every team they played by an average of 3 touchdowns but suffered a 2nd round playoff loss due to laziness. I believe the PRAFF league, who knew we would'nt make the same mistake twice, set out to stop our offense this season. Instead of changing to another formation, COACH BRIAN HAACK ran the same "O" right down the PRAFF's throats. Now if you want to make the games even by making bad calls, then expand the league to the whole Carribean to bring in more competition, but DON'T elect our squad as the target for the 1999 turkey shoot. At the San Juan game last year in the second round playoffs, the GIANTS played without me because I got hurt with a helmet to the thigh and without one of our star cornerbacks because of a helmet to the ankle. This concept of hoping or ever trying to carry out the plan of injuring our team, member by member is ok in sandlot football, but in an organized league, that type of behavior makes me sick. On top of that, we are being shuffled around on an already printed out PRAFF schedule to play weaker teams early in the season and then having to play all the better teams back to back to back. But guess what, it doesn't even matter, we will continue to play GIANTS football and bring it to you just how you knew we would. There is nothing deadlier than a team who has nothing to lose by hurting players except that team which contains the players in which you are trying to hurt. In the immortal words of Counter Terrorist expert CDR. RICHARD MARCINKO(U.S. Navy SEAL/Ret.)"...that means we do to them before they fucking do it to us." That means we will beat the league by playing fundamentally sound football and knocking opposing players on their butts even harder than we have been because even if we end up 11 players, they will be the best conditioned players on the island.

p.s.
If you didn't already know; our team, just like any other semi-pro team, is composed of the average working man. Sure we may have a few players who will go on to play at higher levels of football but nevertheless, when one of our players is singled out and injured, that means he won't be able to perform his duties not only on the football field, but for his country and his family at home whose mouth's he still has to feed, injured or not. So how would you feel if it were you???
