Me

Now for the good stuff hehe me! just kiddin anyways...lets see what there is to say...my name is Shawn and i live in South Carolina..I attended Winthrop University for two years before moving back home and going to USC...tho i dont really like it there thus i will be heading back to Winthrop in the fall hehe anyways um i'm 20 and my major is currently History with a mino in Biology still not sure if i want to keep Bio as my second major or not...Hrm my interests include playing the violin, cello, swimming, singing, playing with the kids at work :), hanging out with my friends..oh and speaking of friends here are some i need to mention...: Kristy- You my bestest crackhead friend in the world! Bev- Good luck and i luv ya! Rick, and both Chris'- i love you guys i can talk to yall when everyone else is being retarded, Piete-*smiles and sighs dreamingly*, Jason- you are a true friend and the cutest one by far lol, and for the rest of yall i love you guys too!... Ok Besides History and Biology, i do have a thing for poetry as you could have guessed looking at this website :), i have been writing since junior high school, mostly to vent anger and frustration. I found that through writing i could evaluate situations more in my head and found better ways to solve my problem, or let the piece of work itself be the door to which all my emotions would fool out into. Somewhere along the way, friends and some close family would read my poetry and some would be pleased...and finally in High School i found myself writing everyday, notebooks and pads full of poems and very little schoolwork :P... Mrs. Jackson my 10th grade English Teacher asked me after class one day if she could catch me after school to read all the poetry she noticed i have been writing during her class time hehe..i agreed, and she read them, gave some editoral notes and told me to enter into the school Literary Magazine and a few other poetry contests....i was quite pleased when a few of my poems won awards and were entered into the school magazine. I thought maybe i would put some of my high school poems on this page..or the ones that won awards anyways :P enjoy!

Like a shadow
but deep within i know
smooth like a river
deep its streams flow.

It rides the streams of death,
words of ours left
deep within me its roots
are always to be kept.

It hides in pinecones
in the shadows in my dreams,
it hides the truth of life
afterward and all its means.

Its deep in the clouds and rain
to us it brings,
it speaks to me about myself,
and eternal things.

Ending slowly,
far away it seems,
but itll never go far
because its close in my dreams.

Les Enfants
Childish were their play,
early in the scenic month of May,
Karen, Kim, Tracy, and Jay,
took our hearts and love away.
The children of our future and destiny
not knowing that love was their key.
Could they make our world a better place to be?
We will never know,
for yet we can not see

Karen, Kim, Tracy, and Jay,
leaving behind you your flowers of May
Could you have passed and to the heavens be?
No,
but in the stern land of maturity.

Goddess of the World
You come to me,
tell me sinned have I?
Strange newly born,
of my soul
heart of mine, to deeply scorn.

You touch my soul,
holy am I?
reveal my own,
to the glorious sky.

You taste my blood,
weak am I?
strength in bone
pure to the eye

You sing to my spirit
but I am only a little girl
powerful I am,
Goddess of the World

Silence in the dark
Silence me no more,
pry open hearts new doors
kill my cry for help in my soul
kill my love for you
hold me no more.

Smiling,
seeing my fear show through
Crying,
when you know I over came you.

Mourning the lost of the
inside of me in the light
Mourning the lose of us,
forever in the night.

Me only hearing a voice crying,
"why dont you grow up kid?"
And a silence echoing in the dark,
"I did, I did."
