Final Argument

I feel my work has significantly gotten better compared to the works I did at the beginning of the semester. Even though there are not as many observations this half of the semester there is one more essay and I believe these later papers are more organized and easier to read. The essay on The Last Supper really gave me a chance to write about something I was already really interested in and I feel the paper has numerous amounts of information that is well organized. I do not have any papers that I feel are below average in this half of the semester but I look back at papers I thought were decent in the first half of class and now realize they are poorly written. The papers PC & Mac, Arguments, and Scary Dream are papers that I felt I could elaborate and correct so I decided to revise those papers. I feel that organization makes a good paper, and if a paper is poorly organized then it is difficult to read and understand. Organization in my papers has been a problem for me in the past and towards the end of the semester my papers become extremely more organized than when I started writing for this class. Essay number three is my favorite paper out of my entire portfolio. I feel it was extremely well organized in a format that first informs a reader why and who starts smoking, then gives information on the dangers of smoking, and finally tells why cigarettes are addictive and how a person can quit. It also is a topic that was personal to me because I used to be a smoker so it was interesting to write and do research about the topic. The features of speech assignment, observation sixteen, was interesting because I learned different types of writing that can be used in my future papers. Many of the features of speech I have used in the past or have heard used, but I never really knew they were named. My QA Diagnostic test score stayed almost the same both times I took the test. I received a 77% the first time I took it and a 74% the second time. I believe the score was lower the second time I took the test because I was not able to take a break and about three quarters of the way through the test the computer screen began to become difficult to concentrate on continually. In conclusion I believe I should receive at least a B+ or A- for my RHET 1302 class. I was never absent during the second half of the semester and the first semester was only absent twice. My portfolio is above and beyond what was asked and as I read through my papers and I can really see a difference in my writing and how it has progressed. Even though I believe much more work is necessary to become a good writer I feel that this class has gotten me started to become a better college writer.
