CINDY AND ELLIE AT CATAWBA FALLS

This is me and my little Dawg 'Ellie', taking a well deserved break on a large rock overhanging Catawba Falls, in western North Carolina. The falls are several hundred feet high.. and we were perched about half way up.

The view is breathtaking.. well worth the hike along the old logging trail. The climb back down was a little slippery.. but, I'm definitely going back as soon as the weather improves.

For those who don't know.. 'Ellie' is a Jack Russell. She's three years old and is extremely intelligent and obedient. She's great with kids, very loyal and is no problem at all in the house. She enjoyed her day out at Catawba Falls.

SHANIA TWAIN

Shania Twain is probably one of my favorite contemporary vocalist at the moment. I particularly like From This Moment On from the 'Come On Over' album. I play the CD just about every time I get in my car.. unless I'm listening to WMNC of course! Passengers have to be Shania fans as well.. including my kids, Ryan and Heather.

I know most of the words to her songs.. and I love to sing along while I'm driving. I need to have the volume turned up though.. so nobody can hear me!

I'll most likely feature more of Shania's music in my new Music Page. It will probably surprise you to find that it won't be all Country Music.

Don Smith of Morganton (Don runs the 'Burke County Links' website) very kindly sent me this picture of Shania. Isn't that a lovely "Big Dawg"? I wonder if any of you know what breed of dog it is?
