Where are you from Rachel?
I am from North Carolina, you know the Tarheel State!! Since I am from North Carolina, that makes me a good ole southern bell. There are so many Tarheel fans around. Many say the biggest Tarheel fan around is God. I guess the way we know that is because the last thing Gid did before he took a rest was paint the sky Carolina Blue. For thoses of you that are not familiar with NC, let me share somethings with you.
There are more than 6 million people who live in North Carolina. Many of which live in the more metropolitan areas like Charlotte, Greensboro, High Point, Winston Salem, Durham, and Raleigh. Chickens, hogs and turkeys are some of the chief agriculture products that come from NC. Mining of crused stone and phosphate rock also help out the economy of North Carolina.
NC was the 12th state to join the statehood. This took place on November 21, 1789. Before the outbreak of the Civil War, North Carolina tried to preserve the Union even after most other southern states had withdrawn. But after North Carolina left the Union, it did its best to help the Confederate cause. More than 10 Civil War battles were fought on North Carolina soil. About a fourth of all Confederate soldiers killed came from North Carolina.
The nickname "Tar-Heel" refers to one of the state’s earliest products- tar. According to legend, some of the Confederate soldiers left to fight with the Union. The North Carolinians supposedly threatened to put tar on the heels of the other Confederate soldiers so that they would "stick better in the next fight."
North Carolina leads all other states in farming and manufacturing tabacco products. High Point, NC is known as the Furniture Capital of the World. Most homes in the US have furniture that was made in NC.
North Carolina has the longest coastline on the Atlantic Ocean. There are 301 miles (484km)of coast throughout NC. The state bird is the cardinal. The state flower is the flowering dogwood. The state tree is the pine. Now you know about where I live. Let me tell you a little more about myself. At this momment I am out of school. I was going to college but this summer I changed my mind. One of these days I am going to be a nurse.

Be aware that you will fall ALOT though. But it is a lot of fun. A great place to go skiing or snowboarding is WINTERPLACE SKI RESORT located in West Virginia.I also like baseball. I have been watching baseball since I was about nine years old. The Braves are the greatest baseball team on the earth!!!!!!!! Hockey is also great. If you get a chance to go to a game, then do so.
