Edward Norton does a good job, but man, he must have been really hard up for work when this script came around.  Who wants to go around for an entire movie with a big Nazi sign tattooed on his chest?  Plus he had to do a scene where he is gang raped in prison.  If Tom Cruise or Tom Hanks were offered the part, I bet they'd pass.
