The Tar River Boys

 

The Tar River Boys have been playing in its present configuration for about five years. The picture above was taken for an article about us in the February, 1998 Bluegrass Unlimited. The members include:

First row, l to r: Roger Sauerborn, mandolin and vocals; Buddy Zincone, banjo and dobro; Willy Nelms, bass and vocals.

Second row, l to r: Bill Manual, fiddle and vocals; Peter Temple, guitar and vocals.

Third row, l to r: Kenny Honeycutt, guitar, mandolin and vocals; Bill Poplin, guitar and vocals.

The Tar River Boys are an amateur group that plays the occasional local public performance. In addition, we have a regular Wednesday night jam at the home of Peter Temple in Tarboro, NC.
