In the name of God Amen I Charles Polk of the state of North Carolina and County of Macklinburg farmer being weak in body but of perfect senses and memory thanks be to God and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die I doe make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say prinsapelly and firs of all I give and recommend my soul to God that give and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a descent Christian manner at the discretion of my friends and as touching such worly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and dispose of the Same in the following manner and form viz. first I give and bequeath to phebe my Dearly beloved wife the hous where now live and the house furniture and the kitching furniture ith all the tools of aggraculture and thirty acres of land to have and to hold as long as she remains a widow two negroes womans and two and two children and there increse to the day of her marreg and then to be Reverst to my son George W Polk the stock of cattle to be equally divided between Phebe and George W Polk and at her marreg and then to be reversed as the other I give and bequath one bed and furniture and her maring aperel to do as she sees cause also I give to my son Charley Polk one Negro man named Emanuel but he remains remains to sarve her during hir widowhood then to be reverst to Charley Polk he paying two hundred Dollars to Thomas polk but the money Not to be paid until the negroe is Delivered to him further more I give and bequeath to my son William Polk one Negroe man named Smart his paying two hundred dollars to John Polk and one hundred to Michael Polk I give and bequeath to my son George W Polk one negroe man named bob and two horses one ten years old and the other fore further more his paying Michal Polk one hundred dollars and Susannah Love one hundred dollars and maribly Shelby one hundred dollars further more I give and bequath to phebe my wife one mare named Tib and saddle to dispose of as she think best further the flock of sheep to be equally devided between phebe and George W Polk further more I give that tract of land whare on Gidon freeman now livs to my daughter Daboragh hir life time or widowhwood then to be reverst to George W. Polk further I give and bequath to my son by land Giddion freeman sun by law John Brooks five dollars further more his share unto I have set my hand and affixed my seal this first day of November 1820
