Daughter of John Love and Grandson of James Love, Junior
Martha Love married Noel Stanley 22 Aug 1829 in Wilkes County. Reuben Stanley served as bondsman and R. Mastin witnessed the bond. Born ca. 1804, Noel is the son of Shadrach and Hannah Becknell Stanley. Dated 29 Jan 1839, Noel Stanley married a second time to Ann Barnet. Seemore Lansdow was bondsman and J. E. Mastin witnessed the bond. This indicates Martha Love Stanley died before the 1839 marriage. The 1850 census lists the Noel Stanley family as:

The 1850 census clearly indicates that child Mary was of age to be the daughter of Noel’s first wife Mary Love Stanley. The others are believed to be the children of Ann “Amey” Barnett. From records gathered by Judy Stanly Cardwell, Martha gave birth to three other children. They are Louvina Stanley, Robert Adley Stanley and Amanda Stanley. As enumerated in the 1850 census, Mary Stanley was born ca. 1833.
Robert Adley Stanley
Born ca. 1835, Robert A. Stanley married Eveline Williams prior to 1857. He enlisted in CSA Co. C, 28th Reg. NC on 12 Jun 1861 and was present or accounted for until deserting on 1 Jun 1862. Returning to duty, Robert was court-martialed prior to November in 1862 where he was sentenced to 12 month’s hard labor. He again deserted about 9 Sep 1863. In the 1870 and 1880 census, the family of Robert A. Stanley is enumerated in Stagg’s Creek, Ashe County NC beside Evaline’s parents. The children of Robert Adley and Evaline Williams Stanley are:
