El Greco's eyesight: interpreting pictures and the psychology of vision. Robert Hopkins.
The mood of Laocoon is similiar to such expressionistic paintings as "The Scream" by Munch. It has an otherworldly sense with the twisted perspective of the figures. The light almost metalic coloring of the figures projects a ghostly image. It conveys a sort of dream state, a seperation from reality.
