Welcome to the Walnut Cove Public Library's home page. We are so glad that you visited us. The library is located in Walnut Cove, North Carolina. Walnut Cove is a small rural town with a population of about 1400 people. It is located in Stokes County in the Northwestern area of North Carolina. Walnut Cove is a close-knit town. The Library serves the town, as well as, the communities of Germanton, Pine Hall, and surrounding areas. The Library is a member of the Northwestern Regional Library system which is made up of thirteen libraries in four counties.

Services

The library offers bestsellers, reference materials, GED classes, large print books, magazines, typewriter and computers for public use, copier services, fax machine for Public use, videos, audio books, and public Internet access.

Children's Programming

During the school year we offer a Preschool Program on Monday mornings at 10:00 am. One of the highlights is the children skipping around the room to "Skip to my Lou."

Our Staff also goes out to nearby elementary schools and our area Head Start and Pre-Kindergartens.

Our library has a certified MotheRead facilitator who does various programs with preschool children, parents, grandparents, high school and community college child development students, and childcare providers.

We welcome new patrons to try us out and old friends to keep coming back.

NCLIVE is provided by the State Library of North Carolina. It allows the residents of North Carolina access to large databases of magazine articles which can be used for research. A password is required to use this service. Please contact the library for more information.
