The Taylor Hansen Leukemia Awareness Foundation

Lucas Taylor Samuel Hansen died on July Thirteenth, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-nine at St. Thomas's Hospital in London of brain failure after the Leukemia attacked his nervous system on July 3, causing him to fall into a coma. He left comfortably and in no apparent pain.

Every year, 3,000-5,000 new cases of ALL are diagnosed in the United States. This illness originates in lymphatic cells of the bone marrow. In most instances, and at the time of diagnosis, the bone marrow is completely replaced by leukemic cells. This disease responds well to treatment and is curable in both children and adults. However-if the disease is found in the late stages, it may be uncurable. Cause of this illness is, as of yet, unknown.
"Just pass around something that tells people to be aware of Leukemia, and that it can get anybody. Pass around the symptoms to people you know, and if they have them, tell them to talk to their doctors about it just so they can rule it out. I don't want anyone else to die because they kept putting off a doctors appointment."
-Taylor Hansen (June 18, 1999)
--And that's what I plan to do. Please take the time to look at this page and tell your friends about it. I know Taylor will be very happy to know that a lot of people are seeing this page.

What we plan to achieve

  • More people will know about Leukemia.
  • Money will be raised for research.
  • Everyone will remember Taylor.
