Im Saying Goodbye

I'm Saying Goodbye

I think you are beautiful
One of the most original I've seen
The way you walk with courage
It seems like make-believe
I've always looked up to you
Because I was on the inside
But other people had a different view
And from them you could not hide
They saw the darkness within your eyes
The fear held within your face
They knew you had no destiny
They knew you had no place
Then I began to see your soul
And for you, every night I would cry
While you were becoming an addict
I just wanted to die
You soon looked very different to me
No balance when you walked
And I must have been stupid not to hear
The way you slurred when you talked
I always had faith in you
People can always change with time
But you turned yourself into a nightmare
You weren't worth a dime
No one saw you around anymore
You were always being sent away
You parents had so much love for you
They didn't care about the price they would have to pay
You knew there was alot of love for you
From which ever way you looked
How did drugs take over your precious life?
How did that innocent face become hooked?
Now standing over your casket today
Seeing this wonderful person and asking why.
We planned to grow old together some day
Now through my tears I'm saying goodbye
