I Almost Missed Out

Just friends, that's what I thought I'd hear.
That's what the other guys said they wanted to be.
Just friends isn't so bad I thought, what could I loose?
I'd get over hearing it, I always have, although it took time.
Just friends isn't what I heard. My wish had come true.
What a feeling I had at that moment you said yes.
I would have missed out on something wonderful
If I had not taken that chance, not asked you out.
My mind cannot imagine my life without you.
What a wonderful gift you have given me, the gift of love.
And to think I almost missed it because I was afraid of two words, just friends...
