Telling your family that you're pregnant: Priceless

Susan and Alex decided to wait 3 months before sharing the news (An old wives tale says that you should wait 3 months before announcing the pregnancy, or it is bad luck). At Christmas we decided to share their news in person when we visited our family. They video-taped everyone's reactions, which was priceless. One reaction that that wasn't caught on video tape was telling Grandma Coleman. She grabbed Susan's hand and said "I'm so happy. I hope I live long enough to see that little baby." Then she grabbed Susan's fathers hand and said to take good care of himself so he can enjoy the baby. She said to take good care of Susan and the baby as well.

While getting ready to open Christmas presents, Alex asked his mother if she would like some wine. She politely declined. Alex then asks Susan who responds in a bubbly "No thank you, I'm pregnant!" Alex's mothers face was priceless.

The news was shared with Susan's parents on her mothers birthday. They gave her a last present to open. It was a picture frame that said Grandma and Grandpa's Ray of Sunshine. The inside contained a special message. "Baby Nestor's photo is due on JULY 16, 2003."

Family and friends received a small Christmas present to open. It was a pink or blue toy pacifier with a note attached. The note read: "You are going to be an aunt/uncle/cousin around JULY 16, 2003."
