A Lambda Chi Alpha Phi Theta Zeta Newsletter
With the success of our 20th anniversary last spring, the chapter has found a new energy. Over the course of the past
year, the chapter has made leaps and bounds to restructure and improve. I am pleased to say that we have a
very strong Zeta in place this fall, and we are working daily to improve every facet of our offices. One of our
primary goals is to improve our contact with you, as alumni.
The chapter passed a motion to create a new position on the Zeta in May, called the High Xi. Bill Schewe,
ФΘ299 has been installed as the curator of this position and he will work bi-monthly to create a newsletter,
geared directly towards you as alumni, to keep you informed of chapter events. Other information can be
obtained through the newly renovated LCA site sponsored through UNCG.
In more chapter news, on August 22nd, we initiated a class of 9 men, including our 300th initiate to the
chapter. This is a huge milestone for the active chapter on two accounts. First, being the largest initiated
class in several years, and secondly, surpassing the 300 barier. Recruitment for Fall 2003 is high on our list,
and as a result, the prospective Spring 2004 class is growing rapidly.
Kevin Popoli (ФΘ 237) has been elected and installed as the chapters High Pi. Already this semester,
Kevin has been an active and integral part of the active chapter once again. His support has helped
tremendously in the strengthening of Phi-Theta Zeta.
Additionally, we are in the planning stages for more events that we can call our own. We already have
disorientation at the beginning of every school year. But now we are trying to add a new tradition to our
fraternity, Pumpkin Fest. We are hoping that with this new tradition we will make an even greater name for
ourselves throughout UNCG and have fun doing it. We encourage everyone to come back and spend some
time with the active chapter, and get the most up to date news on the chapter.
Thank you for your continued support with this chapter.
In ZAX,
Matt Kaiser
