Proudly Serving our members and our community since January 14, 1990

The Outer Banks Professional Fire Fighters Association was chartered as Local 3286 in 1990, with just 20 members. We are the Northern-most Local in the 12th district of the IAFF. Our first president was Peter D. Grana, followed by Dennis P. Horgan and Todd Slama. Currently, Steve Kovacs leads our association, which now has over 60 members.
Local 3286 protects the interest of the career fire fighters that proudly serve the jurisdictions of Colington, Duck, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk and Nags Head.
The Outer Banks, on North Carolina's Northeastern coast, are well known along the East coast. Many IAFF members visit our stations while they are vacationing here. Our area is home to some of the World's Best off-shore fishing, beautiful beaches, Cape Hatteras and the Graveyard of the Atlantic, the Wright Brothers National Monument - site of man's first powered flight, and many other historical landmarks! Be sure to stop and say "Hi" on your next visit!
