On March 28, 1999 Swansboro Bus Drivers lost someone who was very dear to them, not only as a co-worker but as a friend. To me, I feel like I lost a part of my family. Gilbert Riggs had been an outstanding bus driver for more than 10 years. He met many kids whom loved him dearly as well. We will have to put a new driver in the seat of bus 342, but no one can ever take the place of Mr. G. He will live on in our hearts and especially mine for a lifetime. If you knew Mr. G you would know how simple and down to earth he could be. This is something he would never want done. He would say he won't worth all this. I just hope he knew he was.
