2 LEE COUNTY RELICS

I found this Paleo heartbreaker and the 1930's medallion on the same hill on the same day. This Alamance-Hardaway-Dalton is wafer thin and fluted, with an ancient tip break and new ear ding, but it is a rare specimen. You can guess what the tails side of the coin reveals!

TWO FINE SERRATED POINTS- ONE WEEKEND

The bifurcated-serrated Nottoway River has parallel flaking, and it appeared to me on an old favorite knoll on a swamp. The Kirk-serrated bifurcated is one of the thinnest and finest-tipped points I've ever seen, made of a high grade patinated silicified shale. It hadn't been in the plowzone very long, that's for sure.

These 3 Rowans and one Kirk, at top, were found on May 15 1999, along with the Kirk in the above pic. I skunked Charlie-Boy that day in Moore County, the first time in 3 years. The lower quartz points were all found in Halifax County NC this year.My wife picked up the point on the left.
