Welcome

to the home page for the

Invitation to ETI

Welcome to the Invitation to ETI website! We now have our own domain. It is ieti.org (ieti is the acronym for Invitation to ETI and org indicates that our research project is non-profit).

An informal group of 87 scientists, artists, and futurists has issued an Invitation to ETI.  (ETI means any form of alien or extraterrestrial intelligence.)  Welcome to our Invitation to ETI website, which contains eight major pages.  Our home page provides an overview of the entire website.  Hello to ETI issues our detailed invitation and describes our hope for a worldwide dialogue.  Who we are describes each member of the group of 87.  About Allen Tough is a narrative biography that tells why and how he founded the Invitation to ETI project.  His scientific paper How to achieve contact: Five promising strategies shows how this project fits into the total array of SETI strategies.  An FAQ page About the project answers a variety of questions.  Our News page is maintained on the ieti.org, Angelfire, Netscape and Tripod websites.   Links to further ideas can lead you to a variety of other websites.

To communicate to the Invitation to ETI group, simply send an email message to hello@ieti.org. All messages to that address are read by Dr. Allen Tough (the project's founder and coordinator) and/or Dr. Scarlett Wang (Project Manager & Webmaster). If you prefer to telephone Allen Tough, his phone is 1-416-444-3135. If you are inside Canada or the United States, you can use his toll-free number 1-866-421-9300.
