SLIMES

The Slimes This quest isn't that hard, you should start it as soon as possible. To start, talk to people in Krizsan. You will eventualy be told of a strange tower. Go there...

The Agate Tower

This tower is where a group of bandits that somehow have teamed up with the slimes lives. Soon a trap will drop you into the caves. In the southwest part of the map is an evil temple. Go through the door. don't worry about the "Guardian," it's not that tough. Now you'll have to kill Jordan, a mage. Walk through the magigc barriers, they will damage you, but notthat much. You might want to stay on the other side of the last one and use spells against him. Once he's dead, read all of his journals. You'll discover at the slimes are being created by slime pits, and that they can be destroyed be a fireball spell. Go through the next door and destroy his slime pit. Now that you know that it's done, you can make your final assault on the slimes.

The Slime Pit

This is a large cave system filled with slimes. You'll have to explore it pretty good. There are five staircases leading down to the lower level, but the portcillis's are closed. The solution? There is a strande ailean device in the cave you started in. The buttons on it are a map of the portcullis's. when you press one, that portcullis opens and the other ones all close. One at a time, go through all of the portcullis's and fight your way to the slime pit. There is a total of five slime pits. In the last tunnel, there is no slime pit, just a pillar saying "HA HA." There is a secret passage near the webs. Once you destroy the last slime pit, the magic barriers beyond them open, and you can now fight the "Ailean Slime." Once he is killed, you have defeated the slimes. Be sure to find a secret passage to the north, you might find something interesting...

ROACHES

From Port Townsend, go northwest to Shayder, the main city on the island. Ahonar and Sara know a variety of useful spells. After looking around, speak with Arkley, in the library in the northeast corner of town. He tells you about some friendly spiders near Bavner, and about a potentially helpful mage in the ruined city of Kneece. Finally, see Mayor Bernathy to get the mission to kill the roaches. Start with the friendly spiders (which players of Exile and Exile II will most likely remember well). The Giant, Friendly, Intelligent, Talking Spiders live 10 spaces west and 21 spaces north of Bavner. Enter, and go to (18,3). Talk to the guard spider, and tell him the chief spider's name is 'Spider.' (All spiders are named Spider.) Go past, and talk to the chief. He will tell you of the existence of friendly cockroaches, and tell you the location of their lair if you help the spiders with a combat. Leave the spider lair, and enter the space 10 spaces northwest of the spider lair, surrounded by rocks. Do the combat, and return to the chief spider. He'll tell you about the roach lair.

The Giant, Intelligent, Friendly, Talking Roaches live about 35 spaces directly north of the spider lair. Enter, and either speak with 'Filth Spreader' or find the map etched in filth in the northwest corner. Either of these will tell you where the Filth Factory, where the roaches are raised, is located.

Now you're ready to go speak with Purgatos, in Kneece. Enter Kuper, go to the docks, and take the ferry across to Kneece. Purgatos lives in the very center of the ruin (when asked if you want to pass through a thin barrier, say yes). Speaking with Purgatos will get you the Phoenix Egg (an artifact introduced in Exile II). You are now ready for the assault on the Filth Factory.

The Filth Factory is west of some mountains, up the shore north of Shayder. You'll have to fight two large groups of roaches to enter. Once inside, you'll run into a serious problem: the factory's creators have sealed all routes to the core of the factory. You'll have to be very clever to get in. The most direct route (which will cause you to miss some cool stuff) through is:

Head up to (52,11). The southwest passage leads to the control room. First, clear out all the monsters between there and the door at (52,28). Go back to the control room passage and send a single character through the barrier. There are several fights ahead. Note that if the lone character gets beat up, it can go back to rejoin the party and get healed. When you work through to the control room, go to the panel at (41,15), and press the button that stops the garbage flow. This makes a new area open to you, for a short time. Have the lone character rejoin the party, and go by the most direct route to (52,28), and from there to (47,32). Go through the trench through the south, and then through the locked door at (52,36). Go down the stairway.

You're now near the factory machinery, but it's protected. You're also trapped in this section. You'll need to cause an explosion to force your way out. Go pull the lever at (49,34) to close off the pipes, and then the lever at (50,23) to send fluid through those same pipes. Go down to (54,35) through the hole in the wall, and use the teleporter.

Head up to (47,2) (use the teleporters in the corners to save time). Go south through the crack, west, and then south to reach the entrance to the circles of trash around (14,30). Also note there's a stairway up at (5,39). You're going to need to use it soon.

Work your way into the center, stopping at (26,36) to get the scales. When you reach (25,28), you'll be asked if you want to use the Phoenix Egg. If you're ready to make a run for it, say yes. Quickfire will soon pour out of the center, so leave immediately, taking the most direct route out of the trash circles. If you get stuck or trapped by monsters, going into combat mode and using multiple haste spells is the best way to outrun quickfire. Go up the stairway at (5,39), and out. You win. Go back to Mayor Bernathy to get your reward.

Troglos and Giants

The Troglodytes and the Hill Giants are defeated together. This is where thing get complicated.

The Troglodytes

The city of Sharimik is ruled by a Triad. You need each of thier permition to start this quest. One of them will require a bribe. The captain of the guard will only give you permition if you complete a mission for him. You're going to have to get the spell 'ritual-sanctify' The only place you can get it is from a hermit in a valey on the north side of a mountain to the East of Lorelei. It takes 50 spell points, and there are two altars. My advice is to destroy one, leave, rest, and destroy the other. The first altar is obvious. Fight the Hordlings, and find the secret passage to the south in the room that shoots fireballs. After you destroy the altar, you will fight a Haakai and two guardians. Make sure you're ready. Once you have everyone's permision, the mayor will give you a diplonatic scroll for the Troglo king. You will be blindfolded and locked in a cell. Read the scroll and you will see the king. You can accept his mission and kill Elhioc or fight your way out. In the dungeon, Go East, than North than West. Elhioc is beyond the machinery. The combination to the lock is 543202. The secret passage to Ehlioc's chambers is on the west wall. When you're done, return to the cell and exit through a secret passage to the South.

The Giants

Start by entering the Giant's Forge. It is near Delsan. Go through it to the Southeast. Go downstairs. A little to the North of there is a few Nagas. Kill them and take the key. Use it in the middle of the map where the Shamans are. At the pillar, keep pressing buttons untill it shows all of the names. Past the door is a map to the concealed tunnel where the barriers between the Troglos and the Hill Giants are. In the third cave, there are some hostages and stolen items. To rescue the hostages you must find the secret exit (It is to the southeast.) Now it's time for the tough part.

The Concealed tunnel

In the first room you have to push barrels into water or pits. Some of them are beyond secret passages. Look around and you'll find them eventualy. There're no monsters here. The next area has moving blocks. Be careful! Enter the secret passage a little up from the bottom at the west end. After passing a long hallway with blocks, you enter a room with lots of big blocks. There are undead here. Flip the switch on the east part (I think. If I'm wrong, E-Mail me.) and go through the portcullis and find a secret passage. The lever is there. Now time for a tough battle. The doomguard will split in two everytime you hit it. My advice: Send your toughest character past the doomguard and smash the crystal. Get out of there unless ytou want to be caught in the middle of a huge battle. Congradulations. (Don't forget to pick up the pieces of the crystal)

Golems

The Golems This quest is a lot harder than the Troglos/Giants. You should do some questing and get some artifacts before starting. When you're ready...

Zalifar

Talk to General Baziron in Tevrono. He will tell you of a mage that loves fyying and knows of the Golem Towers. Find him and talk to him. He wants you to keep a drake lord from trying to kill him. The Drake Lord is near a rubble field, across the mountains from the Pit of the Wyrm. You can eather give him all of your food, or kill him. Now you can get to the Golem Spires, and the Tower of Shifting Floors.

The Spires

There are four spires surrounding the Tower of Shifting Floors. You won't be able to get to the end unless you destroy the crystal in all four. Go to the South, East, and West (You'll have to fly for the west) ones now. The North one is trickier. Once you've destroyed the Power Crystals in the first 3, it's time to tackle the Tower of Shifting Floors.

The Tower of Shifting Floors

This place is realy tough. The main thing to keep in mind is to have lots of energy potions, and be ready with Magic Map or Orbs of Sight. You'll need them. The first thing you should do is destroy as much of the machinery as you can. This is done using the spell Dispel Barrier. Some of them are hard to get to; don't go too out of your way to destroy one. You should head to the far Northwest where there are 3 machines and stairs. If the conveyor belst seem confusing here, wait till you get to the second floor. Up the stairs, you should make your way to a lever in the eastern part of the dungeon. Pull it and you will be able to get the the control room to the Southeast. Fight the golems and press the Alpha and Beta buttons. Most of the other buttons need autherization, and I'm not sure what some of them do. When you've done that, head into the lava pit in the center. You'll have to firewalk to the South part and walk fdown the stairs. In the basement, firewalk to the Southeast. The portcullises will close, so climb back to the first floor. Before you move, look at the special and you'll be in the basement, and the portcillises will be open. There are no monsters here, so rest up. Head up the middle of the 'Inconvenient Conveyors' and destroy the final spire. You're not done yet. This has cut off power to four spire that block your progress of the third floor. Go back up to floor 2 and up the stairs to the North (You'll have to flip that lever again.) Walk around and through the portcullises to the South. Don't go through the door unless you want to fight a lot of Demon Golems. Put the mind crystal in an antimagic field and kill it. You win! You can leave the second floor through a stairway near the one to the thirs floor. Good job, you've won a very hard quest!

Alien Beasts

This quest is harder than the Golems, but not as big as a jump as Giants to Golems. In terms of confusingness, it's a change of pace from the Tower of Shifting Floors.

Getting Ready

First, you'll need to get permission to enter Footracer. To do this, you'll need to get into Blackcrag. The Thieves Guild in Lorelei can help you. In the Guarded Tunnel, make sure you talk to the innkeeper. He can tell you how to keep the bridge from collapsing. Now, go North and tthrough the locked door. After crossing the bridge, you'll pass some spiny worms, and than a Doomguard. You have to kill him. You should jst cast 'Major Blessing' a couple of times, and you should make it. Now that you have acess to blackcrag, you can shop for powerfule spells at ridiculos prices. Not worth it. Head South to the dining room, and then take a secret passage east. You'll get attacked here. Go North to the Empress' throne room. Take messages back and forthfor her and Aneximander untill you get permission to enter Footracer. Before you do, you should get the Beastslayer Blade. It's optional, but pretty easy, and worth it. Go to the dragon lairs. Niether Khoth or Athron will let you in, but Sulfrus, deeper in, will. Talk to her. She'll tell you to slay a couple of Ailean Beasts, and then she'll tell you she wants to help you fight them. She will forge you the sword, but she needs instructions from Khoth, and some Mithril. Khoth will tell you to find the instruction in his library. It's worth a look around; Although some of the books have bad effects, some of them have good spells. You can get Mithril in three places, but the most convenient is from Athron. Her brood is in the way, and if you even damage them, she'll attack you. There's a secret passage to avoid them. Once you have some Mithril, you can get Beastslayer, and you're ready to tackle Footracer.

The Keep of Tinraya

Once you're ready, enter this town, deep within Footracer. The first place you should go is one of the locked rooms to the Southeast. You know you're in the right one if it has a magic barrier. Past it is the stairs to the basement. This place is huge, and confusing. Take a secret passage in the Northwest part of the first room. Take the boat past the gauntlet to the North untill you reach a place where you can't pass. Stop at the bridge before that, and head West.Go into the room to the North, and a ways West. There is a secret passage to the North where you can cross the river. Go East, then North, then West. Now you get to use the key you got from the New Formello Murders. Go South untill you reach caves. When you reach an intersection, go North. You will now find a stairway. Climb it and you will find yourself in the strange Vahnati building in the town. You can destroy the pools where the babies live. Then go back down and go South at the intersection. You have found the Vahnati. They'll lock you in a cell for three days. One party member can ecsape. Choose wisely. I chose my character wielding Beastslayer. Follow the path to another part of the Vahnati building. You can't get to most of it, but one box has a contro panel. Press the button that says 'Alerum Gedivus.' Fight the Vahnati and press button 2 by the cell to free your party. Go back into the crystal soul chamber, and if you have the weapon from the bunker, you'll survive. Go back to the place where the cauldrons are, and climb the other stairway. The door is now unlocked, and it leads to a lava-filled valley. That's important in the final quest

The True Enemy

The Final Encounter

This quest is very hard, the end of the game. I highly recommend you get every artifact and complete every quest before attempting this. When you're ready...

The New Factory

Go to the lava-filled valey behind the Keep of Tinraya. If you've visited all of the stone circles, you'll have to deal with some Haakais to the North. Otherwise you'll have a choice. You can give all of your money of kill them. Kill them. When you're done, enter the New Factory to the East. This place has no monsters whatsoever. What, you ask, is the challenge? Every step you take drains HP. Fireballs spew at you from all directions. Ore randomly explodes, doing massive damage. You'll need a lot of healing in here, so give the Ring of Magery to someone who can cast 'Revive All.' First, press the button to the South-Center. This turns the belts, allowing acess to two other buttons. Then go East and press the button to the South. This opens a gate, but it will close if the belts are flipped again. Unfortionately, you'll have to flip them again to get out of here. Press the one to the North to do so. Then press the first button to flip them again. If all goes well, you've opend the gate. Go to the gate. The next area shoots a lot of ireballs, so make sure you go the right direction, which is North. Be careful here, or you'll be send back to the start. You'll need to find a secret passage to a button. Then go to a big conveyor to the North. You need to use a secret passage to skip the first part, or you'll be swept past where you want to go. The next room leads to the exit. Woah.

The Three Barriers

This is pretty straightforward. Just get past three walls full of Vahnati. If you have Erika's amulets, they'll smash a hole in the first one. The second one you can leave to the south. The third one is the toughest, and there is a rune that opens the gate past a secret passage to the North. This place must be tough to a party who just made it through the Alien Beasts, but I had no problem here. When you get through the wall portion, don't take the boat (It goes back to the second barrier, but find a secret passage to the South. Go down the road, across the bridge where you get attaked, (Or you can Thrali over it,) and continue until you get to a chasm. You'll have to fight them this time.

The Keep of Rentar-Ihrno

The final challenge in Exile 3 is indeed a challencing one. This place is full of Vahnati, large and small. You'll have to fight your way through hordes and hordes of them, not to mention other tough monsters shuch as liches. There are four stairways you have to find, each with two or three buttons you have to press in the correct order. There is a stairway near every corner. The stairway near the 'Energy Flood Pool Thing' is behind a portcullis. The button to open it is in a room to the South. The Southeast one is behind a secret passage, in a lab. The barriears can be walked through. DON'T DISPELL THEM! You'll release Quickfire. This place has three buttons and they're all hidden. Now it's time for the final fight. This thing is extremely hard. Go into the center, past a lot of Vahnati Guards, and Rentar-Ihrno herself (She's invincible!) and get to the control panel. Rentar will teleport you away, but it will drain her. Go back again. If you've got Erika's amulets, you win. Otherwise, you don't. The way to go here is the spell protection, or Avatar. When you finaly win, just sit back and watch the credits

The Soul Crystal

This quest is a real simple one. Just go into the wolf caves under the goblin caves. In the Northeast corner is a secret passage. Go up the stairs and return it to the Vahnati child. Enjoy your soul crystal.

The Amulet

This is simple. Just go into The Tower of Magi and get the amulet from one of the rooms.

The Knowledge Brew

This is the easiest item quest. You should do it around the time you fight the Troglos.

The Monestary of Madness

Learn the location from Foxfire, who wonders around (But not in) Lorelei. This dungeon is on the chain of islands starting with Gebra. It's pretty simple. Just take a stairway to the North and circle around to the library. Just make sure you take the stairway you took up. The only real challenge is the pillars that fireball you. use the combat mode to get past.

The Fury Crossbow

This artifact is the second easiest, and worth the trouble.

The Pit of the Wyrm

Learn the crossbow's location from a priest in Shayder. The dungeon is near Bremerton. Enter and read an interesting journal to the North. Then follow the obvious path until you get to an area with Mung Slimes. The stairs to the second floor are here. The second floor is harder. There are Mung slimes, Dark Wyrms, and later, Ghouls. Follow the cave around the outside untill you get to the Southeast part. Now go to the Northwest into a pit. Follow a secret passage ther into a crypt. The lever opens the Tomb of Sarios, and the cryts to the North. Go into the tomb (The building to the South.) The first room is a puzzle. When you step on a purple tile, you take damage. If you step in the wrong place, you go back to the start. Just figure out the pattern and you'll make it. The next room contains the Fury Crossbow.

Pachtar's Plate

This artifact quest is pretty hard, about golem level. It's definitely worth it, though.

The Lair of Drakos

Learn the location from the library of gale, entered through a secret passage in the ramparts. The plate in on the same island as Kneece, where the Pheonix Egg is. Go to the dungeon to the Northeast, and enter via a secret passage to the Southeast. The first floor is full of wierd magical traps, and nasty monsters, First you fight Efreets, then Fire lizards and Ice Drakes, than Gorgons. After a puzzle involving moving pillars, go into the pit. There is a teleporter and a stairway. Go down the stairway. The first room downstairs contains a lot of basilisks. Watch out, and have a Kill spell ready. The next room has lots of undead. The keep coming, so don't try to kill them all. The next room had two Drake Lords, one of them Drakos. Kill them and find the plate in a room to the Northwest. Take the portal by the stairs out.

The Black Halberd

This artifact is about as tough as the Plate of Pachtar. It's also worth it.

The Rakshasa Lair

Learn the location from a man in Sharamik. This dungeon is far North of the dragon lairs, in the mountains. It is not the Defiled crypt with the Vahnati. The first floor contains puzzles. The first one, just go to the white mushrooms and head straight south. Next, push a crate to the rune and look in it. Then, to navigate the pillars, follow the direction on the map, but rotate it so the arrow faces up. Next, play with the runes until six lights are visible. Look at the Stalagmites and take the middle stairway. Go to the East and North, than East into the lair. The key to fighting Rakshasas is to put them in antimagic fields and bless your fighters. It's the only way to make it. Go to the North, take the West door, and take the West door again. Take a secret passage to the West and head North. You'll be ambushed. To the North is the Halebard, and some other goodies. To leave, the the passages marked 'Pain!' They lead to the same place, Drakes and lava. The exit is East.

The Ring of Magery

This is by far the hardest artifact. You might want to wait a while before trying it.

The Tower of Zkal

You obtain the location from the Mage with no name. He lives in a hotel room in Delan, and an abandoned store in Krizsan. The first floor is very hard. It's crawling with undead, your spellpoints are drained, and it'a a big maze. If you have trouble, buy a bunch of crystal wands from the guy in Greendale. To start, find a teleporter. It will take you to a tomb with another teleporter. It is a red herring. There is a secret passage to another teleporter. There is some treasure where it takes you, but no ring. A secret passage leads from there to where you were. There is anotherteleporter that leads you near the stairway. Sorry if it sounds vague, but it's the best I can do. The second floor drains your spellpoints and is dark. Find a secret passage to a teleporter. The next room is a puzzle. Go to the Northeast teleporter twice, than the Southeast, than the Northeast again. You are now near the labbratory of Zkal. First, make sre you have the spell Force Barrier. Other spells may work, but this is whaty I tried. You need to use it to block moving walls. Again, you'll need to use it in he hallway to keep from getting crushed. Once you get in the lab, go East and fight monsters, go North, hugging the East wall and protect yourselves with barriers. Pull the lever and go West. Zkal is in here, as well as the lever that opens his treasure. Be ready for a fight. If you win, good job! pull the lever and look in the four chests. They all contain a ring, and one of them is the Ring of Magery. To leave, take the teleporter south, go upstairs, take the teleporter there, go to the Western teleporter, and you're out.

The Tower of Magi Disaster On day 160, you'll get a disturbing message.

The Tower of Magi

Go to the Portal Fortress ASAP. Once in the tower, Go North and talk to Solberg. Than go to X's Secret library and talk to Linda. Go North and go to the Temple. When you take the Athame, you'll be attacked by Demons. Go around to the Northwest and go into a secret closet. Shatter the walls and head South, and North into the portal. Don't enter it, but destroy it. You'll be teleported back to the Portal Fortress.

The Theft of the Orb

The Orb is stolen about day 90, or when you defeat the Troglos and Giants.

The Cult of the Sacred Item

First, get the Horses at the North part of the place you start. Go to the docks to the Southwest, kill everyone, and get a boat. The cult is based on an island. Enter from the East and sweep through. Get the key to the Southeast, and enter the Southern door in the garden. There are a few items, including the Orb to the South. Wash your hands in the pools to get through. Now get North. To leave, press a button on a pillar to activare the portal, and enter it. This should be easy.

The New Formello Murders

This happens early, and is easy.

The Murder cave. Go into this cave(NE Exile) and get to the end. There's not much to it. Just Chitraches and Null Bugs.
