Capital Of Culture Bid Unwanted By Liverpool In the upcoming decision on which UK city should be included in the bid for European Capital of Culture, we decided to take to the streets of the town famous for it's floppy hair and river made mostly out of poo and ask the public what they thought about the subject. Out of the 300 people we interviewed, not one of them thought it was a good idea. Here are the percentages of opinions. 35% of the public believe that if Liverpool became the European Capital of Culture then other Europeans would be confused with the new spelling, Liverpoolulture, and think that it should be kept as 'C'. 15% have a similar view but would like it kept as 'K' 25% asked where in Europe was the country 'Culture' and whether they would have to move there straight away. 10% said that they enjoyed 'Karma Chameleon' but believe that Boy George's group should not reform in Liverpool. 15% were interviewed but then stole their views back and ran away. So, the question has to be asked. Should Liverpool be considered for the bid solely on the basis that most of the adult population can only write in capitals? We think that, like many of the visitors to Beatleland, that the bid will be going home on crutches.
