Wade Kathleen Welles was raised with her sister Kelley in San Francisco, California. In junior high, Wade was forced to wear braces which left her isolated from her peers. To cope with this, she became an avid reader and developed an interest in the supernatural.
After high school, Wade attended Northshore Junior College, majoring in extemporaneous poetry and prose. She got a job as a saleswoman at Doppler Computer Superstore, where she met and befriended Quinn Mallory. Her friendship with Quinn grew into love, but he continued to perceive her as a "bud." On September 27th, 1995, Quinn was seen kissing Wade passionately after insulting his boss. She visited Quinn’s home a few hours later, entered his basement, and agreed to take "a little spin around the universe", she slid with Quinn and Arturo.
Season 1 showed us that Wade is not just a typical female. She proved to be intelligent and loving. She was very close to Quinn and had some deep feelings for him which she has shown us in "Last Days". Wade found what she thought was Utopian Earth in "Luck of the Draw" where she won the Lottery. She wanted to stay on this Earth but soon learned the truth--winning the lottery meant death. She then wanted to continue sliding and she even introduced Ryan to it, she had some feelings for ZRyan but not important ones like the way she feels for Quinn,.
Wade in the second season became more adapted to sliding. She also became aware that maybe it was impossible to return home and she began to seem lonely. That was until the Sliders thought they returned home in "Post TRaumatic Slide Syndrome" and Wade serialized her diary. She got it publised and was on her way to fame. She was devastated when they laerned they weren't home but she dealt with it.
When season 3 came around Wade was more able to show us her computer skills. In episodes like "Dead Man Sliding" "The Fire Within" "Seasons Greedings" and others Wade provewd to be a computer genius and a smart hacker.
Wade also never had very many emotional confrontations with Quinn but started to have a strong relationship with Rembrant, a very strong friedship. Wade was able to show her musical side in "Stoker" and she seemed to be good at it too. When the professor was shot she was the one that was that was most affected by his death, she carried it with her through the rest of the season. The professors replacement, Maggie Beckett never could get along with Wade and Wade always made it hard for maggie to even try to.
Wade finally got home in "This Slide of Paradise" and waitressed in the Chandler hotel. She waitressed for about a month until the Kromaggs invaded and took her prisoner. She was transported to a parallel Earth for breeding purposes.
In season 4 we never seen Wade but we have heard of her condition. In "Mother and Child" a breeder is escaping with her huamgg child and she informs the SLiders that Wade was on this Earth not too long ago--but she was shipped to another Earth after she was done with on this one. She was taken to an Earth specifically to be experimented in a test to invade Kromagg Prime.
In season 5 we meet Wade in "Requiem". Wade has been stripped of her body and altered into a human computer. She was mechanically kept alive in a storage containment unit until further use was needed.
While the Kromaggs planned the invasion Wade tapped into Rembrants mind and opened a vortex for him to pass through and find her. He did so and Wade and Rembrant finally meet eachother for the last time.
After the Kromaggs attempt to begin the conquering procedure Wade hacked into the systems computer and destroyed them completely. She transportd Rembrant into another earth and used what time she had left to download her mind into Rembrants subconscious.
Wade may be gone but she will always be remembered.
