There are thirteen (13) educational institutions in Kalibo, ten (10) of which are privately owned and only two (2) are public schools/colleges.

Tertiary level is offered in seven(7) colleges and one(1) university . Curriculum includes courses in education, liberal arts, engineering, business, computer secretarial, nursing, midwifery, criminology and agriculture.

The Aklan State University (ASU) is the premier university in the province.
