CLUB HISTORY

 Rotary Club of Lahore Cantt. Was chartered on 4th day of June 1997 during the Rotary year 1996-97 in the Tenure of PDG Riaz-ul Hassan Ghauri under Chartered No.50485 in Dist.3270.

 The sponsoring and parent Club was Rotary Club of Lahore Mianmir.

 Rtn. PP Waheed Bajwa was appointed as Governor’s special representative. Rtn PP Zia Haider Rizvi was the Chartered president and Rtn. Saeed Akhtar was the Chartered Secretary.

 Chartered President Rtn. Zia Haider Rizvi was also the chartered member of Rotary Club of Lahore Mianmir.

 The Rotary Club of Lahore Cantt was chartered with 20 chartered members in 1996.

 The Rotary Club of Lahore Cantt continues with 42 members and used Pearl Continental as it venue for regular meeting on each Thursday of the week at 6:00 p.m. (summer) and 5:00 p.m. (winter).

 Club sponsoring one literacy centre directly and managing, supervising and providing financial support individually by our members to the other 6 literacy centres.

 MHD is the organization running these centers and its managing committee consists of our members i.e. Rtn. Zaheer-ud-Din Jeddy (President) Rtn. Syed Zia Haider Rizvi (Vice President), Rtn. Manzoor Ahmad Honorary Secretary and Rtn. Muhammad Asif as the Executive Director. Rtn. Yousaf Malik and Rtn. Sharafat are also its members. We are also providing financial support to SHADAB, a school for mentally retarded children.

 The club arranged interesting and informative meetings by inviting famous personalities of different walk of life and kept the interest of members alive.

 Beside arranging seminars and other meeting we have in our credit to arrange District assembly on May, 2002. A very successful event, highly appreciated by the participants including Rtn. Ashraf Baig DG 2002-2003.

 CLUB'S  INVOLVEMENTS

 1.         Joint projects of literacy program with Movement for Human Development; an NGO.           

2.         Our involvement with Pak India forum for PEACE and DEMOCRACY.

 3.        Active participation with Pakistan Educational Society.

 4.        Participation in Psychological conferences.

 5.       Alzheimer's disease international. Pakistan chapter. Rtn. Syed Zia Haider Rizvi is the president of the organization. R.C.   Cantt arranged seminar jointly to create awareness about the disease. 

6.      Rotary Club Cantt provided organization support to (FASAT)  Foundation for Advancement of Engineering Services and            advance technologies for its seminar held on April 16,2002.
