My name is Matt and I am student at the American University in Washington, D.C. This website was created as part of my final project for my LIT-131 class. It is my hope that this site will be a resource for anyone who, like me, is interested in investigating the protest movement during the Vietnam War. For weeks, I have been researching one aspect of the anti-war movement: the handful of people were so opposed to the war, they willingly gave their lives in acts of protest against it. The people discussed on this website hoped that their self-immolations would help others see the injustice of the Vietnam War.
