Woods, Places, Bears 'n Faces |
Following the success of his first book, Woods, Streams Ghosts and Hangin's. Peter D. Clark has collected in this volume a series of short stories evoking characters and places from New Brunswick's recent and distant past. Once again, he has managed to portray a world very close to our own, yet weird and wonderful, including the true yet bizarre tale of Davy, half man, half bear, who grew up in the Minto-Chipman region. Some poignant, some humourous, some outlandish, some scandalous, all the stories are true, except perhaps for a few of the yarns spun by the infamous Johnny Washburn! Many of the stories are illustrated by talented artists, such as internationally known Bruno Bobak and Fredericton's own Alex McGibbon. |
