Marineland France is a large Aquarium, in a park with a variety of other amusement and recreational activities. They have displayed Orcas since the 1970s, and currently have 7 Orcas on display (1 adult male, 2 adult females, 1 juvenile female, 2 juvenile males, and 1 female calf) though one is leaving the park in the Spring of 2002. They have been activity seeking an adult female for several years now, trying unsuccessfully to acquire animals such as Bjossa and Vigga, and offering $1 million for each of them. So far, it is not confirmed were Marineland has been looking recently.
Marineland's facility is the largest in the world. The main pool is 200 feet long, 100 feet wide, and 40 feet deep. The back pools vary in depth, some reaching up to 40 feet. They have a large performance pool, 3 large holding pools, and a large lagoon pool often used for training purposes. The water is filtered water from the Sea.
