Reggae music carries an essential message. It reminds all from the African continent and from the diaspora that their true roots are in Africa and more precisely in Ethiopia. Reggae music is then a call to the repatriation and to the unity of all Africans in exile. In 1955 the Ethiopia government gave land in the south of Ethiopia in Shashamane so that all the exiled people had the possibility of returning to their original homeland. This historical message that reggae carries has considerable importance because a man who does not know his culture is likely to be lost in a bad situation. It is the image of a tree without roots.
