Purpose for our groupMaricopa Express Youth Railway’s purpose is to bring Youth and their parents together by providing an enjoyable learning experience for activities related to Model Railroading. Further, to utilize the time, talent, and enthusiasm of young people through activities and learning experiences that Model Railroading can provide. M.E.Y.R. wants to Educate the Youth in all areas of Model Railroading in order to bring up the ranks of Model Railroaders interested in the hobby for future generations so as to perpetuate Youth and Adult Interest in Model Railroading. The M.E.Y.R. wants to encourage the Building and Operation of Model Railroad Layouts in the Scales or Gauges that the Youth Membership is comfortable with and can handle all the phases of all Construction Projects necessary in the hobby and through Exhibition at Shows of the Modules they’ve helped Build. The M.E.Y.R. wants to have it's Youth Membership participate in all phases of Railroading and related activities that both space and finance permit.About the Maricopa ExpressMaricopa Express Youth Railway is a local group (501(c)3 Charitable/Educational,Non-Profit,Tax Exempt)based in the heart of Yavapai County in Mayer. We attend most of the Train Shows and Swap Meets around the Valley of the Sun and once a year go to Yavapai County Fair Grounds in Prescott Valley for a Train Show to Benefit the Boy's and Girl's Clubs of Yavapai County. We display our ever growing Modular layouts, which is currently about 4'x8'in HO,and we have an O gauge Donated Layout, and an N gauge 4x4 layout We welcome anyone who enjoys Model Railroading(Youth Ages 8 to 18-Boys and Girls),and Adults to Supervise. Our main goal is to continue the Great Hobby of Model Railroading for many generations by providing a "hands-on" Learning Experience for All Youth members. Adult members will help Teach the Youth and Provide them with Helpful Information to Build Their First Layout. Any Adult who wants to Learn about Model Railroading can also learn and can get helpful information to build their first layout too.
