Below you will find a summary of the classes that we offer at lh:ts

Ballet

The aim of the imperial classical ballet syllabus, is to increase the standard and appreciation of classical ballet, both in performance and technique.  It has been carefully developed in order to provide comprehensive training, both for children and young adults, both who wish to dance for pleasure, and for those who wish to pursue a career in dance.  We offer ISTD syllabus classes from 3 years to Advanced II.  Classical attire should be worn to classes (ISTD Regulation uniform - available from the school shop).  Hair to be worn in a classical style (Eg, bun). No jewellery or watches are permitted.  From Grade 4 level, pupils are encouraged to take two lessons per week.

Tap

Tap dance is one of the most enjoyable and rhythmic forms of recreational dance. It is an essential skill for any dancer.  We offer ISTD syllabus classes from Pre Primary to Advanced II.  LHTS uniform should be worn to Tap Classes. (this again is available from our shop) Tap shoes fitted with Teletone Taps (from grade I) Hair to be worn off the neck. No jewellery or watches are permitted.  From Grade 4 level, pupils are encouraged to take Free Tap Lessons to develop style, vocabulary and technique.

Modern

Modern dance is a diverse, yet extremely enjoyable subject for dancers of any age.  This is due to it's ability to adapt and evolve with changing fashions in dance.  A Carefully planned syllabus unites modern dance, jazz and other dance styles, training young people to become disciplined and versatile dancers. We offer ISTD syllabus classes from Primary to Advanced II.  LHTS uniform should be worn to Modern Classes. (this again is available from our shop) Jazz shoes (or barefoot) Hair to be worn off the neck. No jewellery or watches are permitted. All students are encouraged to take an additional jazz lesson per week, focusing on free work and limbering.

National

The aim of National dancing is to bring pleasure of european folk dance to all age levels.  Folk dance increases a sense of community and awareness in others - whilst being a fun subject. Pupils have the opportunity to study traditional dances, costumes music and customs.  Classical leotard and character skirt should be worn to National Classes, Character shoes (Ballet shoes to be brought to classes) Hair to be worn in a bun. No jewellery or watches are permitted.

Musical Theatre (MTC)

The Musical Theatre course provides all-round training for the performer of tomorrow!!! This weekly class encompasses Musical awareness, theatrical knowledge, improvisation, and audition techniques amongst others. Pupils study musical numbers from a host of famous shows, and are given the chance to perform these at various events.  This class is by invitation only.  LHTS T-Shirts or Sweatshirts to be worn. Black Jazz Pants, Black Jazz Shoes or Black Jazz Trainers. Hair to be worn off the neck. No jewellery or watches are permitted.

Drama

Drama is a fun and confidence building subject, improving voice production, sight-reading, improvisation, workshops, and preparation for auditions for amateur or professional work (at teachers recommendation)  All students are encouraged to take drama at some stage of their theatrical training.  Loose clothing to be worn (preferably LHTS clothing) Jazz shoes or trainers.  Hair to be worn off the neck. No jewellery or watches are permitted.
