is wildly acclaimed by the world media, he is seen as the white Pele.
With his quick thinking he is able to change defence to attack
instantly. He can pick out passes as well as find the back of the net,

Gets stuck into making the challenges. Wide range of passing which can

Striker. One of only 3 players to score for Layerfield. He scored the
last goal at Gillingham's Preistfield Stadium in the 2000/2001 season.

A pacy player in the centre of midfield who is 100% committed to the
club and any game he plays in. Scores the odd goal, but also misses the

James Kennerley
Formally an Athletics legend at Colchester Harriers, James joined
Layerfield from Colchester Athletic in October 2001. First ever scorer
for Layerfield and Club Chaplain, this versatile attacking midfielder
can play anywhere along the middle of the pitch. Has also had stints in
defence and is more than capable in attack. A lynch pin in the team who

having previously played locally with Market Place Wanderers in 2000,
and two spells at Braintree Sporting, debuting against Dorset side
Palace Court in 1997/98. Departed in October 2001 having helped them to
a cup final at Halstead Town the previous season. Captain since 1996/97
of FC Braintree, and in recent years of Braintree Town sides that have
taken on the likes of Millwall and Exeter City, and now turning out in
friendly matches for local sides Bulldogs FC (Halstead) and, since
