Directions to Highwoods Sports and Recreation Centre. From
Braintree: Join the A12 in Marks Tey, signed Colchester and Ipswich. Continue along the A12 and take the third exit. Ensure that you don't exit on to the A133 (Colchester Central, Second exit). Follow signs for Colchester North. Take the third exit, signed Colchester North Harwich and Clacton A120, and then almost immediately take the slip road on the left signed Colchester North, A1232. At the roundabout turn right into Colchester. Continue along this road for just over 1/2 a mile and turn right at the traffic lights into Severalls Lane (signed Cattle Market and Severalls Industrial Estate). Continue on Severalls Lane and turn left at the mini roundabout on to Brinkley Lane and pass a Seymour Day Nursery on your left. At the next roundabout follow the road ahead and pass thorugh the traffic lights. At the next roundabout take the 4th exit into the Gilberd School.
Highwoods Sports and Recreation Centre is based within the school grounds. From Colchester Central: Exit Colchester on Ipswich Road and go straight ahead at the Highwoods/Tesco roundabout. At the traffic lights turn left on to Severalls Lane and follow directions as above. Directions to the home of FC Braintree - Braintree Leisure Centre From Colchester: Leave Colchester on the southbound A12. Exit at the exit for the A120 signposted Stansted Airport and the M11 by using the inside lane. At the roundabout take the third exit and then at the next take the first exit. Then proceed through Marks Tey, going straight over 2 mini roundabouts, and Bradwell. After a few miles you will come to a roundabout on the Braintree by-pass. The Leisure Centre is sign posted from here. At the roundabout turn left, and at the next roundabout (McDonalds) take the third exit. In about a mile take the next exit. At the roundabout turn right and go straight over the next roundabout. Follow the road up the hill and proceed straight through 3 sets of traffic lights. For the final set ensure you are in the middle lane. At the mini-roundabout turn left and then at the next roundabout go straight on into the Leisure centre car park. |
